Working through
Conversations with an Earth Angel
I have no right
she said
as every right that ever stood
was granted
No
she said
because history left her bare
caring only for the land
its trauma
no right to ever tell you
what to do
What of a heart
so true and moved
in which there is a throne
fit only for you
your dominion
will you take your place there
I cannot meet such expectations
she said
though she already had
long before history was kept
instead
she said
I’ll tell you of my hopes for you
Someone nearer in age
and in geography
with a way that brings you laughter
miles of smiles
someone I’ll love
for the love of you
go on and find her now
I’ll always be here
Still the tears come
all unbidden
unfair and without sense
but a vow was made
one summer’s day
and though she wouldn’t take her place
I’ve promises to keep

This struck a deep cord in me today C. You really are speaking, not from your heart these days but, from your soul, and it’s so clear here. Heart-breaking, but, bitterly sweet and beautiful. I hope one day you do find that somone who can give you miles of smiles. Much love, Bren.

Ah, yes, the tears flow. And. You’ll soon discover that more and more of them will flow in joy as well. Your writing from and to the heart of your soul is lovely. Keep on this journey to the truth of you 🙂 Warm Hugs,
