When in doubt …

visit a couple of favorite diaries (in this case, Gemma and Rick). I hope all is reasonably well with you. It’s day 46! May your weekend be fine.

1. Dick and Jane or Kim and Wendy?
Kim and Wendy.

2. Did you wear knee socks?
Yes, most of the time; I liked them better than anklets. Those were my choices at the time.

3. Favorite rock band?
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

4. Last long walk?
Yesterday.

5. Last time you saw the ocean?
Last August.

6. Christmas tree – real? Artificial? None?
Lately artificial. I’m actually over any desire for a Christmas tree, but the younguns seem to think it necessary, and the youngest un tends to have a bad reaction to a real tree in the living room (possible allergy).

7. Name a couple poets you’ve read and liked.
Alice Walker, Robert Frost, Robert Mitchell, noko, Illuminati Apprentice.

8. Name a couple artists you like.
Leonardo Da Vinci, Jessica Galbreth.

9. Electric or gas? (cooking)
We have a gas stove; ergo, we use gas. I am pretty sure I would much prefer electric if and when I can have it.

10. Camping experiences? Positive or negative?
My camping experiences have been positive.

11. Do you cry easily?
Yes I do.

12. Do you butter bread when you make sandwiches?
Not unless I am having a bread and butter sandwich. :D:D

13. Favorite town/city in Texas.
I have never been to Texas, but from what I’ve heard/read/come across, I think it would probably be Austin.

14. Last time you wore nail polish. What is its name?
It didn’t have a name, and I can’t remember the number. It was placed on my nails about five years ago by a manicurist at Lisa’s Nail Salon.

15. Can you drive a vehicle with a clutch?
No, I cannot drive any vehicle but a bicycle (sort of).

16. Would you be comfortable on a motorcycle trip?
I think I would, if I were to prepare properly.

17. Write your epitaph.
My journey’s done. How’s yours going?

18. Did you ever have music lessons?
I had a few years of piano lessons. My grandmother even invested in an upright piano.

19. Do you still play?
No. Sometimes I sit down by some poor unsuspecting keyboard and play vaguely remembered snatches of pieces I had to learn, but I don’t make the poor thing (or anyone else who happens to be nearby) suffer for longer than a few seconds.

20. Spend a thousand dollars. Quick, don’t think, do it.
Rent a cottage in Connemara for a week.

Love your epitaph! And of course, I’m chuffed (happy) you chose Austin. Does not being able to drive bother you in any way? Not that is necessarily should. I’m just curious. Hugs,

I’ll have to do this one. 🙂

Some of these really shocked me and others just allowed my affection of you to grow. Thank you for sharing.

I wouldn’t have been able to answer the Texas question with just one city. 🙂 you don’t drive? must read back. Will you feel stalked?

April 15, 2005

That’s anice one. 🙂 Thank you.

April 15, 2005

Gas is so much better for roasting vegetables, Did you know that IA is responsible for the fact that I am writing on OD? We share a friendship with Mr. Finch. So very sweet of you to mention my poems. 🙂

I like your epitaph… And if you ever come to visit me, I wanna hear those few phrases of piano stuff you learned. It would thrill je to no end. Of course, whatever you do thrills me to n9 end anyway. 🙂

April 15, 2005

And of course, “je” should be “me.” But I figure yhou knew that anyway. 🙂

i think people can tell how old we are when we choose dick and jane.

RYN: thank you. You made me smile. xo

I love the epitaph! We had an electric stove at the old house and have a gas one here… I haven’t noticed any difference between them (except that our old stove was larger). hugs,

Your epitaph is a classic! Love it. RYN: I added a link to that website.

BTW, when I made my list of poets I forgot to add you and noko. Also Gabrielle when she sets her mind to it. You are all great writers.
