We’re having a heat wave …

Only in a winter with temperatures like we’ve had lately would a day with a high of 41 degrees (still F here) constitute a heat wave; but today and tomorrow that’s what it says we’ll have. Woooohoooo! One or two fewer layers to wear; be still my heart!

I can be such a baby sometimes. Of course, sometimes this baby writes kind of niftily about it, but still; sometimes I need to tell myself “Grow up!” My mini vacation appears to be on, so I will be going away on Wednesday for a few days. Yippee! I need this, in several ways and on many levels. Here’s last night’s bedtime whittery twittering.

toward a certain reality
I toward a certain sun once carved
in ancient stones

And what of odd little byways
those structures off the path
a small chapel with recessed niches
seats or places for the stations of the cross
crepe thin emotions run amok
tracing patterns of old dramas
when best wishes are enough

Candle’s flame
leads the way to a resting place
needed purification
before entering the sanctuary
that is to come

I’ll settle for a high of 25F, though it’s supposed to go up to freezing point today. Ooooo. Tropical! We’ve had wind chill of -40, which is -40 no matter how you slice it. With frozen smiles…

We had a “warmer” day yesterday but today, tomorrow and the next 3 day it’ll be -19 C without the windchill!! OY!!! I’m tellin’ ya…I must have been living in the tropics in a previous life b/c I can not stand the cold! I too am a baby! Have a good day!
