Wednesday with happy edit!
It is Wednesday again. Apartment issues came up after I viewed the place. It is so tiny, but adorable, and it has everything needed: a full kitchen, a bathroom, a futon as well as a bed; a complete entertainment system, a cute little Mac with internet access, air conditioner. It’s just so teensy!!! But of course, nothing can just be easy. I got an email about how to put through the deposit payment, soon followed by another asking if my friend would be willing to check out a day earlier. Umm … no. A relaxing stay in NYC does not mean having to move a day before leaving. They have another apartment, and I’ve evinced interest in that one if this one isn’t available. I am waiting to hear about that.
I am going to try to induce extra sleep these next couple of nights as Friday night I’m off to Northampton, Massachusetts, with K to see Mary Gauthier perform. My kind of woman is Mary: a recovering alcoholic singer songwriter whose songs are straight from her innermost self. I shall see about getting some sleep before starting to blog myself stupid at 6 a.m. on Saturday. Edit: I don’t have to start until 9 a.m.! It pays to read more carefully; it’s 6 a.m. Pacific time! Wooooooooooohoooooooooooo! Ahem. End of Edit. I shall have a Guest Blogger fill in while I am training it toward the family homestead on Saturday evening; none other than K, who will have the dubious pleasure of watching me avail myself of her computer every half hour on Saturday. Oh. Joy.
The sun is shining, and although my little temperature indicator at the bottom of my Firefox window says it’s 75 degrees at the present time, I live in a brick oven and it already feels abominably sticky. I think I am going to take a pre-bus bahhhhhhth and then hit the pavement. With my shoes; I have no intention of bending over and smacking it. Of course, being a natural born klutz of the highest degree, there is always the possibility of hitting it with various and sundry other places on my body. This is really going nowhere, isn’t it?
Have a grand Hump Day if you are in this hemisphere; have a fine Thursday if you are that far ahead of me.

I came over here to tell you that we don’t need to start until 9 a.m., but it looks like you’ve got it figure out. the concert sounds great! I’m not doing so well on gathering extra sleep. Last night I read on a Carl Hiaasen book until well past 1 a.m. heh. I have, er, diverse taste in literature. Austen to Hiassen to Kathleen Norris.

No blogathon for me. I don’t do those short on sleep hallucinations at all well. Good luck.

Good luck. I don’t know how anyone can manage to blog like that. My brain just shuts down at a certain point.

Melting in your brick oven, and looking forward to Friday. Life is on the up and up. I’d fan you if I were there. As it is, we’re melting over here. Iced coffee is my drink for now, with of course, many glasses of water. Breezing Off 😀

I’m a sucker for tiny spaces that contain everything I need; mayhaps I was a dog in a former life? Your weekend sounds awesome. Enjoy! And, try to stay on your feet! J

ryThat’sSoRavenn: I agree that Chelsea saves me from stabbing a pencil between my eyes when I end up watching the show with my tween. heh. I have to say that it’s much more tolerable than Barney, though. On Disney, it’s sometimes the voices that drive me crazy. Hm. maybe I’ll put Disney on all night Saturday to keep me awake. But then I’d only write annoyed posts.

Since I have a horrible fear of dentists, I’m afraid I’d have to say I’d rather go with Barney. I had to edit the tween hysterics entry to clarify that my Morgan was being funny. She’s an absolute hoot and was making fun of her crush and her attempt to push me into taking her on a “date” with the boy she likes. But shades of things to come…. heh.

RYN: Thank you. I’m glad you liked it. Have fun! It sounds like a good time. 🙂

rycontinuingBarneyvsdentistryn: I, too, have a wonderful, gentle dentist, and he’s definitely less annoying than Barney. I have to confess that Morgan didn’t even like Barney that much when she was little. She’d say things like, “Why are the kids smiling in that weird way?” “Why does his voice sound like that?” “He’s SCARY!” heh. She preferred “Roly Poly Ollie” and “Blues Clues.”

ps – yes, we’d do anything for our kids. I’d be out of here so fast and so far away if I didn’t know that yanking my kid away from her dad would be bad for her. For me? Well, I’ll tell ya. Someday, i’m going to run so fast and so far and feel so free…. do you hear the PMS talking? 🙂

I can’t wait until friday 🙂 You, me, and Mary Gauthier in Noho– what could better? And don’t worry, I’ll help my sweetie survive her blogathon. It just gives me more opportunities to lavish gifts of food, drink, and kisses on you. xoxo K.
