The dollar guy

That’s where my daughter and I got our lunch from today. Actually it’s two guys; one frying and cooking, the other one putting the stuff in containers and waxy little bags and handling the dollars. See, everything you order from him costs a dollar. This can be three fried chicken wings, three fried chicken legs, lo mein, mei fun, three spring rolls, or fish balls (about six or seven of them on a stick; fried too). Umm … can we say greasy? I mean, we’re talking frying that stuff in a vat of boiling oil; and by the time you get the chicken home (two blocks) that paper bag is long past useless (this is all right though because he always gives you a little plastic bag, whether you order one thing or four). We got our lunch from there on the way home from Rite-Aid after dropping off a prescription for some ointment to cure the odd thing on her hand and the fading odd things on her face. It may or may not be ringworm; but in any case we’re using the stuff that cured ringworm back in 2000. Oh joy.
My son saw us on our way home from the dollar guy. So he put in his bid to be picked up when he gets out of school. Weeeeeeeellllll … I made like I had to reeeeallly think about that one … yeah, okay. So we’ll do that. I have been whittering but not posting; so now I will post a whitter from last night as I rode downtown on a bus. I hope your days are going well.

As night enters

My
the surprising beauty of declarations
in answer to questions of a heart

It is dusk now
the cool almost dark hour
just past twilight
a windy day
and I notice that autumn’s array
comes late to this place

Tuesday is moving on
and something broke
it needs replacing
how funny the world is
and I think if there were an award
for the greatest skill at living
loving and caring
the most important things
I know that it would go
to an angel of mine

ryn: yeah my skin can’t handle wool either, which is a shame because I love working with real wool, the quality of the product is so much nicer than with acrylic. But oh well. I find if I work too much with real wool my hands break out in a rash. *sigh*

On my poor days I eat at the vendor that sells 2 hotdogs, a bag of chips and a soda for $3. Best deal in town for lunch. Your dollar guys sounds even better.

Click the button to go to The Open Diary home page, or your back button to return to where you came from maybe it is because my diary dwells in the land of FOD? thank you dear one.
