Why must you encroach
on my precious time
my all too short affairs
with love and with life?

I read you into my mind
think you into my heart
allow you to hold me
in your sad and silent embrace

Don’t be so possessive
for in the end

We do need space to breathe, no matter how intoxicatingly we love someone, which your words communicate so very well.
