Let the cleaning begin!
The vinegar and water is making its way through the inner workings of our coffee pot. The various bottles and sponges and paper towels are awaiting my presence in the bathroom, where I shall endeavor to make things gleam as much as possible. So what am I doing here, you say? Well I thought I’d just drop off a couple of whitters. I went to my meeting today, which did its usual most effective job of sorting me out proper. However, very sadly, the last person to share was clearly not in good condition. Oh, he hasn’t had a drink, not for over three decades; but it didn’t take much to see that his spiritual condition is not the greatest right now. It is rather odd to hear someone talking about his personal savior Jesus Christ along with the F word inserted every few words of his sharing, which was all about why it doesn’t f***ing matter if we f***ing like him or not. I’m praying for him. Since this is an anonymous space and that is an anonymous program, I won’t tell you his name; so if you would just name him something (be nice please) and keep him in prayer or send good energy or whatever it is you do for people who are hurting, please do. He is a good man, just apparently in a great deal of pain right now. I whittered on the way there and on the way home. I just figured I’d post them while the vinegar stuff is cleaning the coffee pot and before I do my Joan Crawford imitation in the bathroom. :D:D
Observations
In a sky bluer than you might think
this city would be allowed
tufts of clouds move
desultory and tinted in radiance
the sun celebrating the crisp clear sky
of true autumn
The newest Americans are smiling
as on their way to this day
they juggle tea and rolls and dreams
immune to the grime of some days
and some of the souls met
I am infected by the joy in them
In the seat in front of me
a sleepy head nods at odd angles
Friday night commanding its fees
of Saturday morning
an occasional dazed glance for orientation
on the way to a lost day
youth will recover
True pity
I sat across the room from misery today
bolted from the room as soon
as the prayer was over
repelled by the free-floating anger
in a soul that claims a personal savior
the jolly mask fallen
lying on the floor discarded
I pray anew that my tears flow freely
my soul reach toward wholeness
my face be transparent
my heart without disguise
keep me open to serenity
let me not cover my wounds
but keep them open to the healing sun
I prefer angels to armor
choose stumbling over sterility
and I am graced with the knowledge
that tears in the rain pass
teaching on the way
happiness is given me in abundance
through the tapestry of this life
Joan Crawford: are you going to wear that black strapless dress, go barefoot, and powder your face with night cream? I mean, for the theatrical ambience and all. Make sure you have plenty of wire hangers to throw around. 😀

Yeah, saw a reminder something like that guy recently near here too. We can struggle with life at any age, stage, or other condition .. and we can always let go and live to find a better solution too. Hope he does. You sure do : ) I like angels better than armor too! Come to think of it .. guess I’ve kept those angels mighty busy too! LOL Thanks for this entry. Big Sober Hugs & Smiles
