Labor Day and Laundry Day
I actually stuck to buses yesterdays in both directions of my jaunt. Connections are weird. Not bus connections; those are simple enough. Human connections, though. Lots of thinking about those going on just now.
I have “added an interest” in the Interests bank here on OD … well, it isn’t added yet, but it’s been submitted for DM approval. It’s “Cole Porter” … I adore his lyrics. His songs come into my mind at various times, in different circumstances, and make of life’s happenings a song cue. Thank you, Mr. Porter.
Mind floating snippets below.
~~~~~~~~~~
Dichotomies glide into each other
hesitant hermits connect
brazen I ask for faith and trust
from damaged and depleted pools
as I take time
(significant quantities required
as I know someday you’ll understand)
to honor what was
as it changes with me
into how we all move forward
~~~~~~~~~~
Long story
I say and then
I say it again
are they really
no
just fragments of what
in the end
is never long enough
~~~~~~~~~~
Interesting messages
ways in which voices strike
enter
brambles suddenly block my path
a breeze comes calling
is a door being closed
I wasn’t worried there
now I hear a hint
should I heed it
listen to its darkness
One young angel feels it too
shift against our presence
he can’t understand
so I say something about pain
and wonder about brambles so sudden
all the heartbreak behind that door
it’s okay
Labor Day is the Seaport
laundry and links and places
letting life be lived
You say it all with such eloquence Cathy. Never forget that yours is the magical use and gift of words wich you use to express how you feel so well. Sending you warm, loving hugs and love in thought, Bren.
One day, I’ll learn how to type notes without any typo’s, now that would be such a novelty. *Winks
i dont blame you for wanting Cole Porter 🙂
He did write such lovely lyrics that have withstood the test of time. If only life’s happenings could be a song cue, sigh. Love and kisses. xoxoxo
Cole Porter, huh? I concocted a screenname out of one of his songs. I’ve had it for…seven years, now. 🙂
Yes, those human connections can be tricky.
Cole Porter wrote such great songs; so intricate and ellegant, so beautiful, and sometimes such fun. I have a great CD in my collection of Dionne Warwick singing 12 of his best songs, and it’s one of my favorites to this day. 🙂
You are as eloquent as Cole. And, yes, connections are weird and wonderful.
I don’t know…I’ve run into some pretty complicated bus connections. 😉
now that I have my car back I was working out the cost of parking and I decided that if I go into town of a saturday, I’ll probably just take the bus. Its so much more fun – though you can buy more when you have a boot. 😉 Exactly, it will definitely be cheaper to take the bus. 😉
