Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
The U.N. General Assembly is on; it opened yesterday.
Dubya is in town, today and tomorrow.
It is raining the way they said it would last Friday when it was sunny and there were balmy breezes through the treetops. The monsoons have come to Manhattan.
Dubya brought them along.
It wasn’t enough to just tie up traffic throughout midtown. Oh no. After my bus took 20 minutes to go one crosstown block (because it was detoured thanks to this nonsense) and I realized I was just going to have to get off and walk 13 blocks, the rain, which was considerable and blown about by some fairly strong gusts, decided that it needed to be more ambitious.
The heavens opened up. I cannot describe how heavily it is raining here right now.
My feet and legs are drenched as I sit at my desk. Every inch of me is at a minimum damp.
I could really start to hate this guy. First he embarrasses me as a citizen of the country he somehow managed to be made leader of. Now this.
Here’s a whitter from yesterday and a photo.
Happy Tuesday.
Reflection
Who knew
that my lack of glistening
certainty and definition
served a purpose
willing as I was
to give myself away
to forget for a time
the awareness
dim and absolute
indelible
that I did not belong
How many of those beautiful
self-assured painted on
personalities
who made me breathless
in awe of their sharp wit
brittle desirability
have known the serene sigh
of surrender
the joy in just not having the answers
in learning oneself and the world
anew in every day

I wish that rain would come to phoenix, we have no such luck when it comes to rain. Here they don’t even know what a good down poor is, they think the off and on huge sprinkles is rain.. lol

Good morning, sweet drenched poet! Get yourself dry and warm. A truly beautiful poem. I’m glad I don’t have all the answers. I’d have nothing to search for 😉 Smiles & Hugs

The U.N. is convening, dear heart, to talk about wrapping things up in Iraq. (I watched Colin Powell being interviewed last night) So, let that be of comfort to you in all your drenchedness 🙂 Hugs ~

ooo yet another pretty picture… 🙂 I don’t like George W Bush. I’m glad that I don’t havae to sit around and let my ulcers flare up because of him. he’s not the leader of my country. But then again.. the leader of my country is a senile goof. 🙂 *laughs*

The more I know about politics, the more I find it dirty business. I’m reading Al Franken’s book, “Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.” Funny, but alarming. The photo of the river is very soothing. Try to stay dry, dear.

Yes, and I had the “pleasure” of being home today and watched his lowness speak. By now I hope you have dried and are enjoying the cool breeze and sun trying to peak through the clouds. Another lovely pic.

That sucks! I like the rain, but I like Arizona rain–the kind you can barely get drenched in. Heavy, torrential downpours are pretty much no fun at all. Hope you get dry soon!

Well, think of it this way; WE have known for a long time that Dubya is all wet; God is just making sure, with the rain, that those of us who haven’t figured that out yet finally will. 🙂 RYN: Gemma was grouchy for a few days after they left, but is back to her old self. I have been warning her since I found out that company would be coming, so this time she is hopefully better prepared. 🙂

I’m not buying the theory that we need to get soaking wet to appreciate being dry… Thanks for your wonderful notes these last few days.

Lovely swim. With a sympathetic smile…

Isn’t Monsoons in Manhattan the new Woody Allen flick? I can think of NOTHING to say in “defense” of Dubya. I hope he leaves your fair city soon and takes the monsoons with him.

Why is it even the water seems different in other countries?
