Rings

Most of them inexpensive
made to decorate children
as they move into the time of
transformation
toward adulthood

For me they are
most of them
decorations because somehow
I need some distraction
from another transition

Two are more
the band I have worn so long
it has its own groove
in its own place
and the ring I bought as
my engagement symbol to myself

Wire with beads will stay
become my daughter’s
the others evolve in changing patterns
as days dictate
as my spirit is moved

Only one is gold
out of place with the pewter silver bands
leading toward someone who doesn’t live here
who these neighbors would never know

Do you
which of you
some
follow me here
or hold my hand as I go
someone has started me on the road
to more

Now my hands
glistening in muted and inexpensive symbology
begin to reach toward the possibilities
bound to stop the grasping need
of this screaming discovering soul
because life insists on its hours
tribute of duty’s fulfillment

Sometimes
maybe when the light is dim
the shadows long
these baubles tucked away
tell me what I need to hear please
just the words

I do believe

I wonder to whom the gold band leads.

You pack so much into a whitter! You are on the right road and I do believe you have the reach for fulfillment. Bet just those words will be told to you at just the right time too : ) Hugs and Smiles

“and the ring I bought as my engagement symbol to myself” – Yeah, baby!

Rings – they say women prefer rings and bracelets because thay can see them – men prefer to give necklaces and earrings because THEY can see them. Hmmmmmmmmm I love my rings…………..

Our beliefs can mold our future. Feeling the strength of yours here.

My favorite ring is a silver indian ring I bought my exhusband when we were 20 and spending a day in Rockport, Mass. When he left some 18 years later, he left the ring in one of his drawers. I had it resized for me. I used to wear it remind myself that love is not forever. Now I wear it to remind myself that it is.

*hugs* You are an amazing woman. Blessed and grateful, Colette

i used to have a playlist with nearly 200 songs on it.. i just didn’t feel like separating everything into different types of music. *smiles* it was rather odd to go from Vivaldi to Rob Zombie, that’s all i’m saying… (not that i listen to much Rob Zombie. just one song..) i hope you do do a music entry.. it would be really nifty to look through what you listen to *nods* hugs,

This touched memories of the rings I had as a child – those given to me for being good at the dentist… a ring I received at a birthday party that had to be cut off at the hospital. This is a great symbolic topic to whitter on! Hugs,
