Best wishes

My muse is a testy thing; she much prefers expounding on a small doubt or minor sorrow than exulting over all the wonderful things in my life that I am so very deeply grateful for. It being Thanksgiving, I will postpone posting anything she might have me post here till another day. I am being very ambitious this year. To wit, I will today attempt to prepare the following:

Stuffing of the Yankee variety (the kind I used to make with my grandma, with a helpful reminder in a recipe) which will go in a smallish …

Turkey (there being only four people at this particular celebration)

Garlic mashed potatoes (which became popular here a couple of years ago when first included in a holiday meal) (involves lots of potato peeling, I think I might enlist the help of N for that)

Baked sweet potatoes with ginger and honey (involves peeling and grating of ginger which I will almost definitely do myself, as well as peeling and cubing [!] of sweet potatoes; oh yeah, and crushing cardamom; sheesh, this is very ambitious)

Pumpkin pie of the lovely back-of-the-can variety (I might be moved to whip some cream for that; we’ll see)

Ms. M of the rapidly careening toward teenhood variety will be my main assistant in the above endeavors, also probably making a salad (her area of expertise).

We will make lists of the things we are thankful for and share them over the meal. Maybe. The best laid plans of whitterers don’t always work out just as one would like …

Happy Thanksgiving, wherever you are!

About whipping that cream….Kool-Whip is quicker!! Your entry brought out someone else’s muse; your notes are full of rhyme……oh, my mind is longing to do the same, but ..alas..and woe is me…(just like the silent movies, you know)…anyway, the total gist is, that I must, uh, surely resist..and rhyme….some other time.. What DID you put in that whipped cream???? Hugs
