Ahem …

(Needed to edit the title and date on this one; pardon me. I wrote the text this morning, but saved the quizzly bit last night … carry on, please.)

From my inbox today (Hazelden’s Today’s Gift daily email):
I will measure my success today by the quality of my sobriety and relationship with God.

Since that is the motivation behind my retreat idea, I believe I can redefine this weekend. Redefine it because Ophelia and N (I know, I need to come up with something better than that initial for him; a couple of years ago he was known as Macaulay around the neighborhood because of a perceived similarity to the Culkin kid back in the Home Alone era, but nahhhhh; this is one long parenthetical aside, huh?) have to go to the dentist’s office at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, and there is some sort of New York Cyclones game commitment I may or may not need to help N keep on Sunday. So: a meeting a day, time allocated to prayer and meditation and room cleaning (or: housecleaning, inside and out).

I’d say the below result is accurate in my case; damn them road blocks! Then again, they keep me from getting complacent, and keep me working on myself, which my Higher Power knows (and so, actually do I) is a good thing. Have a grand day, please.

Your EQ is 127

50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!

51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you’d have better luck understanding Chinese.

71-90: You’ve got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.

91-110: You’re average. It’s easy to predict how you’ll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.

111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.

131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.

150+: Two possibilities – you’ve either out “Dr. Phil-ed” Dr. Phil… or you’re a dirty liar.

What’s Your EQ (Emotional Intelligence Quotient)?

I scored 133. “131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.” Oh well, says something about me I suppose…I tend not to think of anyone as a loser really, well, apart from Cathie’s 2 brothers but then, I wouldn’t be alone on that issue either, even their own parents think that!…LOL Much love to you today and enjoy yourretreat. Bren.

Oh boy, another psych quiz! LOL! Off to see how valid it is.

August 4, 2006

Well, I scored 160, but then again, being emotionally intelligent is my job. And, this was not a very valid quiz. LOL!

RYN: Thank you dear you. Then I did your thingy, and yup, it said the same thing as the Padre’s President. LOL Made me laugh. And I don’t have any brains left either.

August 4, 2006

RYN: It’s sort of easy to guess the right answers! Hope the dentist is okay. I’m scared you-know-whatless of the dentist!

I canceled my dental cleaning last Friday. chicken me. Is tomorrow your day of retreat? I hope it’s splendid.

Much love, from “The Cat” and me. 🙂

ryn: thank you. 🙂 Well… its not brilliant, but its a beginning and as such it is exciting and special to me. Thank you for being my inspiration – I now have heaps of ideas, but I have to stop the block each time I get to the screen.

Heh, I scored 147. Have a great day!

How about Nigel. I love that name in a kid. The name is so haughty and kids are usually so not. 😉 Have fun Ms. Smartipants. 🙂

RYN: LOL! Cool. Don’t you think Nigel and Ophelia is just regal sounding? 😉
