A certain fragility
Quite wonderfully, we were able to see the lunar eclipse last night. Being city dwelling beings, we weren’t sure we would be, even if my daughter’s one homework assignment was to get out and try to watch it, and write about what she saw. I have yet to see what she wrote, but I expect it is a list of observations. It was quite something to observe. I am glad my daughter saw this.
I am in such an odd and fragile mood today. I’m sure it’s nothing more than the arrival of Aunt Flo, who greeted me this morning. Cycles. I wrote at bedtime last night.
Ritual
Half sunlight
blending with the eclipse
dark hiding even the distant cold
light of the night
is it why I have heard
nothing
what has happened to what I need to see
it is gone
like half the leaves
along with the last sigh of summer
You who turn toward love’s vision
who run tender fingers over your beloved
who hear whispers and the beating
of the heart that loves you best
the pulse that you know gives you life
and light that you may follow your path
it is good where you are
I have known times like your nows
so tonight I wrote and tore and burned
for the sake of the hope for more
Tender is the night. (I wish I had thought of that myself but it’s not an original) It’s too cloudy to see the sky here, more’s the pity.

Wrapping your odd and fragile moody self in a big warm hug (((((((Me Explorer))))))) Staring a look of ‘better be nice to my friend’ at Aunt Flo. Thanks for the neat whitter. Was a marvelous event last night and a time of miracles dancing alive : ) Hope you take gentle care of you today. More Hugs

There’s nothing like an eclipse (among other things) to remind us of the cyclical nature of everything. RYN: Thanks

Your optimism and good natured ness are somewhat infectious.

The moon has been rising right on top of the mountains across the Strait..pretty much directly across from the living room sliders. I saw it be red…it was something. As for tender hearted….yes, I can relate. I am sure you’ll be gentle with You today.

Lovely whitter, as always. I only saw the eclipse over at nsrider’s diary. So glad he recorded it so I didn’t miss it entirely.

we couldn’t see it, was way too cloudy here. Christinas grandpa was very disappointed.

Aunt Flo certainly has her way with our emotions. The eclipse was wonderful – glad you got to share it.

We are surely at that age, my dear, where the cycle doesn’t come with any regularity. Beautiful whitter, as usual, ME.
