Dance with me
will you
dress me like a gypsy
with a rose or a knife
held in my teeth
take me to an edge
a ledge
a cliff watching over
a wild and raging sea
I’ll run
mad and desperate and blind
stumbling over rocks erupting
through the moors
just until I stand near enough
to let the flower
or weapon fall
because you breathe
there’s a light behind your windows
I will fall there
rain soaked and spent
until you lift me up
offer your hand
and in dulcet tones inquire
whether you might have
this dance
~~~~~~~~~~
I’ll say it’s late
why not
it’s sort of true
now it’s dark anyway
it’s okay
all of it
my eyes have a will of their own
wet from dark knowledge
special case
When you wish
do it on a star
as I train myself in silence
remembering the nature of my pilgrimage
breathing in my spirit’s core
Away with me
for now and for then
away
great entry!
Wonderful again Cathy… I love both of these but especially the second one. In my minds eye… I can ‘see’ you growing. Love to you and hugs, Bren.
Wonderful, as always. In the first, I could feel like I was there, watching you dance. Wonderful. 🙂
Love the drama of the first one, inner and outward drama, and depth. And the other one is very powerful. Such a special treat we have of reading your poetry. Warm Hugs,
