Trying not to die
I guess I really have lost the habit, I think it might be partially because I haven’t been doing anything terribly exciting this week. Due to my incredible lack of money, I’m just working so that I can start paying off my credit card, and hopefully still have money left over to pay for school… hello overtme hours.
Did get to see Eli and Phil last Friday for Phil’s housewarming, it was nice to see her, it’s been ages, since my birthday last year, she lost a lot of weight and looks really good. Phil is the same as always, but we actually got a chance to chat for bit, which we never seem to get to do this year, as we always get together for shows, and you just can’t chat much (the people sitting behind you get upset… lol). It’s nice meeting up with ex-roomies. Hopefully they’ll both show for my birthday barbecue next week.
I’ve been rollerblading to work everyday, which isn’t bad, when I’m working at my usual hospital, only about 10-15 minutes, but yesterday I got cancelled and they found me a shift at a hospital I used to work at, it’s about 40 minutes away… I think I’m going to kill myself with my rollerblades… I’m still having issues with the stopping, which isn’t so good when you have busy streets to cross… In order to avoid running into a bus yesterday, I had to jump on the sidewalk, and there were people there, so I went into the grass, stopped suddenly and found myself doing a summersault in the grass. I was absolutely fine, although I stunned a few people, and later disocverd that I completely squashed the tomatoe I had brought in my lunch… sigh. Yeah, I really need to learn how to stop.
Other than that, nothing fancy. I’ve been on evening shifts pretty much straight since I got back from Europe, so it kind of kills my social life, so far I’ve not gotten any news from work about shifts after wednesday, so they’re making me just a tad nervous… I did specify that I don’t want just evenings as I haven’t had much of a chance to see my friends since I got back. (must admit though, that as far as the finances, it helps to be antisocial… lol! That and eating cucumbers sandwiches).
Anyhow, going to try playing catch-up with a few favourites, gotta give back too…
I haven’t been on rollerblades in ages, but I know what you mean about the stopping as that was always my problem too. hehe
