On the open road.

Today was a fun, yet relaxing day.

It started a little stressful as today were the auditions for the various university plays. I have no idea what play I’m interested in, as they all have some really fun aspects and the directors all seem cool, so I said that I left it up to casting and availability. I didn’t have a text prepared, so I decided to tell them a story, I used this one http://opendiary.com/entryview.asp?authorcode=A914071&entry=20102&mode= which is from about a year ago. I tend to dress it up quite a bit, and it’s kind of a fun story to tell. Unfortunately, I only got about half way through before they stopped me. They did ask if it was a true story, and I got to tell the ending, although it loses some of it’s punch that way. They also had me sing something, as one of the plays is a version of Moulin Rouge. So I sang a verse of Leeds, which was the solo I was the understudy for last year. All in all… I think it was ok… but who knows, felt like it was wasn’t the best I could do, although I thought the singing went quite well.

In the meantime, I had gotten a phone call from Roselyne, one of my friends from choir. She offered to take me for a motorcycle ride to her brother’s house and we could chill out in his jacuzzi and just take it easy. I had plans with Fred today, we were supposed to take his clothes shopping and then hit the open air market, so I gave him a call first. Turns out he was feeling a bit tired and was quite happy to postpone until tomorrow. So I gave her the ok.

She picked me up at 1:30 and we headed off, it’s about a 40 minute ride. I have never been on a motorcycle before, so it was a lot of fun. The only issue was that my shirt is stretchy… it was kind of windy, so let’s just say that if I hadn’t been holding my neckline, I would have been flashing all the drivers. But, it was very refreshing considering how hot it was today. Once we got to her brother’s (Marc) we soaked and took in the sun and had a few beers. Later her brother’s girlfriend also showed up and all four of us took it easy, in and out of the jacuzzi. Finally we had steak for dinner, Marc’s son and his girlfriend joined us.

The ride back was a little cooler, but still really enjoyable. I definitely see what the appeal is. I wouldn’t do huge amounts of distance sitting on the back of one (as your butt tends to go kind of numb after a while) but for an hour or two, it’s great.

Now I’m back home, I’ll probably finish up some homework so that I don’t have that looming over my head tomorrow while Fred is here. I mean, let’s be honest, there are better ways to keep myself occupied.
