The News
Aloha on a sunny Sunday from the southern coast of Oregon…
This morning I turned on the t/v to get caught up on the news… CNN had a huge “Breaking News” banner plastered across the bottom of the screen…
This seems to be a part of the trend in television news… everything is treated as a monumental revelation worthy of being declared “Breaking News”…
I switch over to FOX… they just have a huge “News Alert” banner scrolling across the screen…
I’m waiting for the time when they announce the “Breaking News that there is no Breaking News”…
I can no longer stand to watch/listen to Fox… way too far to the right… and MSNBC is way too far to the left… CNN is somewhat in the middle except their idea of news is to tell us just how much they hate Donald Trump… which really isn’t news anymore…
So… that’s what’s new (play on words) with me today…
Aloha oe…
I agree with the news… Fox News is crazy… I seem to stick to local or CNN
@kaliko I suppose I do as well… (sigh)

When I do listen to news it is usually NPR. I like Newspapers, but cannot afford them anymore.
@catholicchristian I rarely listen to the radio… and our local newspaper only does local news… (sigh)

I have to agree with you that CNN is about as unbiased as I can find them. My husband, who’s a Fox fan doesn’t agree and calls it Fake News. I think the problem is that we had gone to the extremes in both parties. There are no moderates anymore. I’ve pretty much gone independent because no one can seem to compromise anymore.
@dlk082244 Yes… I agree…

I am with you. I can’t stand it anymore either.
@emiliasdance Yes… they try so hard to influence their viewers… (sigh)

The worst thing Fox “News” did was make it OK and normal for a news channel to flog its political views and try to influence elections. Now it’s common for TV news to cross that line and in fact it’s boring if they don’t. And boring means bad ratings.
TV is the problem. The off switch is the solution.
@sleepygene The off switch… but of course… I forgot about the off switch… (smiles)

I don’t watch television. At all. I do glance at the news on a few web based (hopefully reputable) news sources though. But I do not dwell on it and I don’t dwell on it for my own good mental health. Seriously.
@wildrose_2 Good… and good for you… (smiles)

I stick with Reuters and BBC News. Everything in the U.S. is NEWS that gives more opinion than anything else.
Hope you’ve had a good day.
@zhnee Exactly… their opinion… very little news…!
Warning Comment
I just quit watching the news altogether:)
@grammysheart Well… I suppose that’s one way to get around the “news”… (sigh)

I gave up the news years ago. Now I get my “news” when my husband and son get home from their respective jobs and the first words out there mouths, are: did you hear, did you see, what do you think of this or that. So dinner is when I get caught up on the news now lol
@stormwatcher That wouldn’t work for me… I live alone… (smiles)
Warning Comment
hugs again p
@gypsyspirit Well… hugs to you as well… (smiles)

Don’t watch Fox News. In fact I very rarely watch News at all. I like to read really good Newspapers online. I go to Google News Feed and choose the best ones to read.
@leonalia I do read the different news feeds on line… I think they are much better than the ones on t/v…
