Rain

Aloha…

A rainy evening here on the southern coast of Oregon… not a heavy rain… nor strong wind… just a gentle rain… the kind of rain that makes it easy to fall asleep…

The ocean has been quite turbulent the past couple of days… very few boats have gone out… better to wait until the storm subsides…

Christmas day was quiet for me… though I did spend some time with friends…

New Years Eve promises to be quiet as well… dinner with friends… sit around and talk story afterward… maybe drink a glass of champagne… or two… or three…

Hard to believe that 2018 is almost here… heck I’ve just gotten used to signing 2017 on my checks…

Aloha oe…

We need that gentle rain here. Glad to hear your life is quiet, though.

Aloha…

I’ve been following the news of the fires in California… our Chetco Bar fire was 200,000 acres and we only lost a few homes… came within 5 miles of my home… glad you live where you do…!

My kind of New Year’s. I love to picture the water and boats you see in your neck of the woods. Nothing but farm fields around me ❤️

Aloha…

Well… we sort of have farm fields… we are the Easter lily capital of the world (smiles)… but yes… living right next to the ocean is kind of nice…

The ocean seems generally kind to the Oregon coast. You don’t get storms with names like typhoon or hurricane or nor’easter. And neither do you get droughts. I’m not sure why you’re not in Hawaii but from where I’m sitting in the middle of a white-out you’ve certainly picked a kind climate.

Aloha…

After the death of my youngest daughter… I decided to return to the mainland… too many painful memories… today I am doing much better… but have become resigned to remain here on the mainland… Happy New Year…!

I dont think I have had the pleasure of a nice gentle rain in a very long time. I kind of miss it even though I really cant stand rain. Happy New year!

Here on the coast… we average 85 inches a year… well over 110 inches last year… lots of water… but gosh this place sure is beautiful…
