A Request to the Universe

Last time, I thought it’d be cool to have a bed-up-a-ladder and a separate office to study in. You gave me these things, Universe, but nothing else. Every other thing about my last house was hideous, from the roommates to the kitchen. I have learnt my lesson and I am being much more specific this time.

Firstly and most-importantly, roommates. I can’t decide if I want men, women or a mix; 1, 2 or lots, but I know this for sure: They will be inspiring, interesting people who are passionate, in a good way, about whatever it is they are doing with their lives. They will be open-minded enough to be accepting of both my sexuality and my work (tall order, I know), but not the sort of “open-mindedness” which involves sitting on the couch smoking dope all day. They will have plenty happening in their lives – ie, they won’t sit at home watching tv night after night – but be the sort of roommates who acknowledges the roommates as a cohesive group, and a kinda surrogate Urban Family. Like Da Boyz without Da Drugz (seriously, I’m too old and over-it for that kinda bullshit now). They will be clean and tidy without being anal and uptight – this mean no rosters, but no dirty dishes festering on the bench for days at a time either! We won’t cook together as a rule, but there’ll be occasional spontaneous flat meals.

I’d really love to live in P*, Universe, although it’s mostly out of my price range. If not there, then N*, K*, city-side H* B* or the edges of G* L*. It will definitely be somewhere from which I can relatively easily (but not too easily – this is part of my get fit campaign!) walk to town and University. It will be somewhere that is completely welcoming to Bella, the most beautiful cat in the world. So, there will be a yard with some trees and the roommates should treat her kindly. Preferably, there will be no other beasties in the house, because Bella still believes herself to be Queen Cat.

An office attached to my bedroom would be brilliant, but not one down the hallway, because that caused much stereo-anxiety last time. If the bedroom-office combo is asking too much, then a big bedroom, so there is plenty of room to study in will be fine. Either way, it will have lots of windows, lots of sun and a view!

A well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable and truly communal lounge, good insulation are all musts. Ideally it will be a flat where the expenses are paid weekly into a flat account, so there’s no pissing about with bills every month, and there will be a broadband internet connection.

(While we’re at it Universe, how about having Hot Amanda come over and say hi to me next time we’re near each other?).

LOL If you’re gonna tell the universe what you want, you might as well get specific, hey? I’m kinda going the opposite. I used to be specific in prayers or wishes; now it’s more of a “You already know what I need and what I want… now help me to figure it out” kind of deal.
