Snowy Sunday
I woke up to more snow. I can’t really complain because this is the first real snow we’ve had since last winter. It’s not the snow that I don’t like it’s more the cold temperatures. I really can not and never have tolerated cold weather. I think it’s due to my thyroid but I’m not doctor so I won’t self diagnose.
I had a great sleep last night. I went to bed about 11 and didn’t wake once til 9 am. I thought about going to the gym but I decided against it because I went 4 times last week and will probably go 3 or more times this week. I don’t need to go today. Besides I have to go into work for a couple of hours later and do some stuff so I didn’t want to be gone from home the entire day. If I had my way I’d stay home all day but seeing as I did that yesterday (after coming home from the gym) getting out today will be good for me.
I woke up feeling smaller today. Does anyone else ever feel that way? I love it even if the scale doesn’t budge I know I’m losing inches. I just started wearing a new pair of work pants about a month ago and already I need a smaller size. Yay!
One of my favs, Kristin, is doing the Whole 30 challenge. It sounds so interesting and I’m thinking about doing it. I already make all of my meals everyday so why not make them healthier with no processed crap. I am going to read up on it and see what foods are allowed and what are not. I love love love extra old cheese and would hate to have to give that up. 🙁
Everyone keeps reminding me that there is an abundance of delicious food available while we are on vacation. I know this. I’m not worried. Once my mind is made up it’s hard to sway me in the wrong direction. Yes I know the nachos and cheese and french fries and hot dogs and hamburgers and pina colodas are available 24/7 but that doesn’t mean I have to eat them. I am going to be bringing my own bottle of salad dressing because the last 2 times we went to this resort the salad dressing was HORRID. It was all made with soya oil so it tasted like fish. So gross. So i’m going to bring my own and take a little shot glass like tupperware container and bring my own. I love salads and plan to fill up on those. I’ll eat chicken and pork I’ll just stay away from the dessert table (maybe once or twice will be okay) and I’ll walk from one end of the resort to the other instead of taking the tram. I’m excited. I need to just relax.
I had a dream lasst night that we went with some friends to Punta Cana and all we did everyday was cook, clean and eat. We didn’t even leave the room and didn’t step foot in the ocean once. I was bummed but then I woke up and realized it was just a dream. Thank God.
I better get off of here and go shower so I can head into work and then get home. Hubby needs a hair cut today so I have to do that before I leave too.

I’ve read up on the Whole30 and it does sound great and people have had amazing results. I am not sure if I would be able to follow it though. I don’t think I could give up cheese! I really, really need to cut out the processed crap though. I do fine for Supper and usually lunch, but I snack far too much at night, usually because I am up so late with the baby. It’s not good for me!

That is a crazy dream! Salad dressing and lunch meat are weird in foreign countries. They kind of skeeve me out. I’m still not missing anything except chewing gum so far. I’m on day 6.

I wish my mind.was strong like yours. It’s easy to.sway me. I think on vacation though, I would be eating vast amts of fruit! Yum! I really want to go.drastic with eating well but don’t want toruin what.supply I do have. I need a.kickstart. yay for feeling smaller!

I woke up to a good 6″ of snow outside this morning too (and it was still coming down). It was bizarre after the winter we’ve had thus far. lol Feeling smaller is the best! Taking your own salad dressing is a great idea. I like red vinegar on my salads so if I’m going somewhere that I’m not sure about I go prepared with a bottle in my purse. You have to do what’s best for you! 🙂 RYN: Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m pretty tall (5’10”) so my weight is spread out. I guess the grass is greener on the other side… it sucked being tall and so overweight, I just felt big in every direction and not very feminine. lol

ryn: I heard about it on myfooddiary.com. I have 2 women that I’ve talked to for quite awhile and one of the girls did it. She joined a Crossfit gym and they had her try it. The website is http://whole9life.com/ pretty much all of the diet info can be found on the website. I bought the E-book but I don’t think it was really worth the money. The only thing is that everything is all together instead of reading a bunch of different articles on the web. They do have a real book coming out in June though that will be sold in book stores. And NROWLFW is a book called New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women. It has 6 months of weight exercises. The subtitle says “Lift like a man. Look Like a Goddess”. I’m still on stage 1 which is 6-8 weeks long depending if you work out 2 or 3 times a week. We’ve been trying for 3 times a week but a couple of times we only got the 2 in for the week.
