Today, of all days, I decided to do a 10+ km (approx 6 miles) hike through Websters Falls  The temperature outside was about 32 degrees which made it feel like 43 with the humidex.

I have been walking a lot lately through the trails of Dundas/Hamilton. I didn’t realize there were so many beautiful trails. I am not in the best shape of my life but I have been worse. I can, for the most part, handle long walks. Last weekend I did 25k (15 miles) walk through the trails and it was easy as pie.

Today, however, was a different story. I was struggling to finish when I had about a 30 min hike back to my car. I finally made it, after hiking up 120 stairs from the bottom of the falls.  Once I was in the car I felt like I was going to puke and/or pass out. I could not catch a good breath. I know part of this is because I could stand to be about 30lbs lighter but the other factor was the bloody humidity.

I’m walking in a 60 km Weekend to End Women’s Cancers in September so I’m trying to build my endurance. Wish me luck.

Either way I’ve learned my lesson and will not be doing a hike like that on a humid day again. Ever!

My youngest baby, Josh, turned 19!!! on Friday.  He had been up north at a cottage and I wasn’t planning on seeing him until next weekend but he so graciously surprised me yesterday and showed up here πŸ™‚  I was so happy to see him.   I can not believe he is 19 already. My baby boy πŸ™  Legal to drink, legal to buy his own booze, legal to gamble. Oyyyyy

I am starting to feel like crap so I think I’ll end here and go watch telly.

Hope your summer is going well.

aaaaccck, i think i had an exercise induced asthma attack just reading this.

Ahhh, it has been SO effing hot outside! I can’t believe the amount of walking/hiking you did in this weather! You are amazing. I am starting to get winded now if I run up the stairs too fast, LOL.

I wish I could run that many miles! lol Good luck on your 60km! That sounds LONG!!! haha I didn’t know you had a child that was 19?! For some reason I was thinking you were in your 20’s! I like you’re title..it is so disgustingly hot out!

I think you did great, that amount of humidity and probably altitude would make it near impossible. So you should be proud! Happy Birthday to Josh! He really does sound like the perfect child. You are so lucky! He is going make some lucky lady really happy one day πŸ™‚

RYN: Your inability to hold your pee does not bode well for me. I guess it could be worse. I will just have to make sure I finish peeing. Sometimes though if the phone rings, or someone comes to the door or now, a crying baby, I stop peeing and finish later. But no more!

Wow your youngest is all grown now! Have you gotten the empty nest syndrome yet?

Awwwww…you have a sweet boy! I can’t believe he is 19 already. It seems like you were just talkinga bout him turning 13. It’s really humid here too. 100 degrees + soaking wet air.

It’s a very good idea, I just always feel GUILTY for doing that, since Will usually just fusses the whole time. He’s getting better about it, though. I think I probably just need to leave more often so that they get used to it.
