almost 3 months? No way

Has it really been almost 3 months since I’ve written?  Wow! 

Quick recap

My grandmother died on New Years eve. She was 92 years old. She lived at home until 2 weeks before her passing. I think the move to the continuing care center was enough for her. I miss her dearly. She was the wisest, kindest, caring person I’ve ever know.   I have been trying to be a kinder person in general because I know that’s what would honour her. Sometimes I still slip up.

Kaite turned 21 last year. I’m….officially….OLD. but I don’t feel old so there! LOL  She is living with her boyfriend and working full time. We have a strong relationship and for that I’m so happy. She gave me a "diary" for my birthday except it wasn’t one that  I had to fill out it was on  that she had been filling out over the past year with memories of us. Things we did together as she was growing up and just things she remembers about us. It was really very heartfelt and I cried because I’m so blessed.

Josh finishes high school this year and will be moving away to college. He bought his own truck this summer and he makes me so so very proud. He puts a smile on my face everyday. He is a lot like my grandma. Kind, caring and so wise.

Hubby is still hubby. I have come to the conclusion that I am spoiled beyond normal.  I don’t know how I got so lucky. I really don’t and I thank God every day for putting him in my life.   I never dreamed I would marry a man that does laundry, cooks, vacuums, looks out for my best interest and just truly cares about me so much. It’s surreal really. 🙂

Speaking of hubby…we just returned from a weeks vacation in the Dominican. I wasn’t as impressed this time as I was last time. The resort we stayed at seems to be declining. The food made me sick. We’ve been back for over a week now and today is the first day I don’t feel like my stomach is going to explode. I think I caught an intestinal virus or something while I was there. Mid week I started to feel lethargic and it continued on. I still don’t feel 100 percent but I feel 70 percent better than I did.

We have had the best winter ever. It only snowed two times and each time there was less than 2 inches of snow on the ground. That makes me happy. I hate snow.
