Combo. Breaker.

Had to change my OD layout because my background died. Due to OD’s leprosy. Poor, poor OD.

A few new updates: Cygnus is on a workout kick, where she’s eating less than 1200 calories a day (at the most), and working out/cardio half hour a day. Along with her normal job at the hospital. Over the past two months she’s had so many tests run on her body it’s not even funny, and in the end, after all the doctors and everyone looking at her results, she gets a universal (near universal… still waiting on one) "you’re obviously fine. Nothing wrong with you at all." Strange, because she’s eaten salads for two meals a day for over four years and still has weight problems.

She also got off gluten, even though the doc says she’s "in no way reactant to it. or allergic." Now her energy is high, she’s not sluggish and in incredible discomfort all day, and she’s got a much more positive outlook. I don’t get it. A friend recently posted on FB, "Do you know what alternative medicine is that’s been proven useful? Medicine." I want to punch the fuck in the face. He’s a good guy, a little simple perhaps, but his perspective always irks me. Case number seventy-six thousand: Cygnus eats no gluten, even though Doc and Nurses say it’s fine (in fact, Doc said to "eat normal… maybe a few more vegetables in your diet," to which Cygnus nearly laughed: 65% of her diet is vegetables), and now she’s in rare form. Throwing down at the gym. Hauling ass. And feeling great.

Strange. Medicine just ain’t savin her. Good thing we listen to what the doctors say. Shithead.

Sorry. He doesn’t even know I’m perturbed by his post. I usually don’t reply to anything inflammatory on the site, because it’s none of my business. As an American, I have the right to be offended. Not NOT offended. And so does he. And so do you. If you’re American.

Another update is the two of us are going out of town for the upcoming weekend. Going to St. Charles for three days to hang, lounge, enjoy. It should be a great little minivacation. Given my work schedule’s about to change, I’m looking forward to it.

A chapter away from finishing (finishing… for the fifteenth time) OfSaltandWine. It’s been a violent, tear the shit out of my gut with a rusty nail type ending, where I force myself into a corner and then FightClub myself to prose. It was kind of fun. I had a lawnmower going off in my head yesterday, so I nursed the brainbaby to silence… then watched Gladiator.

Gladiator uses the same story hook as Hunger Games, V for Vendetta, Count of Monte Christo, and the upcoming Ender’s Game, only it does it much better than the rest. So far. Haven’t seen Ender’s Game. Why? Because Emperor Joaquin is adequately screwed up, across the board, and Russel Crowe sells his disinterest in surviving. He has a reason to kill the guy, yeah, moreso than Kittyness or the Count, or even V, but what gets it is the bad guy really wants Maximus to die in front of a crowd. Solid performances then. Solid performances now.

Eh. Writer in me going nuts is all.

I ate Oreos and cold Wonton soup for breakfast. Lunch was… nothing. And dinner will probably be a trio of hotdogs with Korean BBQ sauce. Managed.

I want to be published so bad sometimes. So so so bad. Other times I want to have wasted my time on more worthwhile endeavors. Like IT, or Physics, or Travel journalism. This world sucks sometimes. I hate America.

Hi. I miss you.

Woops I thought that quote on facebook could have been me for a moment… 😀 Something other than medicine seems to be working for Cygnus, perhaps. Maybe it’s just her individual biochemistry, who knows. But I hate it when Fake Doctors take something that’s been proven not to work, call it ‘medicine’, and rake in the cash while people continue to suffer. Hence the alternative medicine dislike…
