Lovely Sunday – edit
What a difference a week can make!! I started back on the Prozac, luckily I had a couple refills still. Upon the advice, later confirmed by my doctor, I doubled up on the first couple days and by Monday, when I saw my doctor, I felt like a million bucks!
It is soooo good to feel good again. How quietly and slowly the negative feelings crept up on me. I thought I would know right away if I still needed the medication but I was wrong. Life is once again a joyous thing and Im filled with energy and good moods.
Ive only told a few people that Im back on Prozac and those few have told me their own stories of trying to get off and eventually going back on them. My doctor spent a good amount of time to persuade me that being on the medication carries no stigma, that there are times in our lives that we need a little extra help and we should just be glad that help is here. Im trying my best to wrap my head around that and I think Im beginning to believe that. The one thing I do know is that Im feeling wonderful and Im not about to stop feeling that way.
I’m sitting here waiting for my meatloaf to finish cooking. Terry is at the movies with our friend and mother of the beloved twins. I’m bringing dinner over to their house later so we can all enjoy each other. I’m so glad Terry has someone who’ll go to all the movies he likes but I don’t. We went Friday and saw “The Knowing.” I had to stop myself from falling asleep. The rest of the time, I spent wiggling because it’s hard to for me to sit still for a long time, especially if it’s a boring movie and to me, so many are boring.
My daughter has always had the photographers eye. I tried but I dont have it. Shes been doing some fabulous work lately. Shes learning photoshop and tweaking photos that she takes, resulting in some staggeringly beautiful results. I wasnt even aware of all you could do with photos until she started showing me her work. Ive already framed one of them for my living room. She is learning some great things but, to me, it all starts with the photo. She just has that ability to see something special in the ordinary.
She sent me some examples of different effects she created using a photo of a branch of bougainvillea. I asked if she could create a certain kind of effect, which she did and from that I painted my first flower painting. So this is my painting. Normally, I do landscapes but I loved this one.
(sorry about the glare from the flash)

*I forgot to mention: not only did i create this lovely painting out of one of her lovely photos, but a friend in my art class, who saw some of her photos that i brought with me one day, purchased this same photo and several others as well, intending to paint one or two herself.
please note – I was informed by my daughter that I must include the above information. Upon reading this entry, she said I had to write about the other purchases of her photography from other people because that is legitimate. and that makes her a “real” professional, instead of just letting good old mom to use a photo of hers to paint. Evidently, if someone – not related to her! – actually buys her work, then that counts.
Sheesh! I can’t even brag the way I want to. I am given instructions on the correct way to brag!
The meatloaf was excellent, by the way.
I love the colors in your painting. It has a very “Monetish” look to it. And so glad you are feeling better.

Don isn’t gone, but he married a lady who doesn’t want to share him. You can see his work now in Seattle galleries or here. I have a good sized collection of his paintings. He was one of my very best friends from 1966 to today……we last saw him last year.

Wow! Beautiful! I’m so happy that you’re feeling good again. I want to learn photoshop, but so far have been too lazy.

Your painting is beautiful. I’m sure her photographs are too. Bet she got her artistic talet from you!

Very very pretty – I’m considering trying my medication again also. I think part of the problem handling all the negativity at work is that I’m no longer on meds.

As others have said, I, too, am glad to hear that you’ve gotten happy again. The last couple of times I went to a theater to watch a movie, I almost fell asleep. I’m thinking it might be because of the dark room and something else in it that drones me out. Maybe you feel that same type of thing when you go to a theater. I’ve not experienced it with live theater, just a movie. Your painting is very pretty. I likes it.
