Goodbye, Good Friend
Our beloved dog, Joey, died today.
He had heart problems, even had surgery last November but it still took us by surprise. We knew it could happen but never saw any indication yesterday.
I don’t care what “they” say about waiting to get another dog. We want one (or two) as soon as we find the right fit for our other dog, Jack and us.
We have an acre of yard and lots of time and love to give to dogs so why not?
We even went to the Humane Society here in Pasadena today. It’s where we found Joey so I’m sure in time we’ll find another dog.
But we’re miserable.
Sorry about Joey. It is nice that you would go to the Humane Society and give a good home to one who might not otherwise be so lucky.

I am so sorry about the loss of your beloved Joey. And I can understand you wanting another dog; you after all have all that love you gave him, that he can no longer receive, and you need to give it to someone…why not another beloved dog? When my cat, Gemma, died a few years ago I said at first I wanted no more cats in my house. Two weeks later I had another, whom I named Lucky, and I don’t regret a moment of having him here. He’s been a godsend. I grieved, but finding anothe furry companion to love make my liffe so much better. So I am sure it will be for you.

I am so sorry you lost Joey! There is something soooooo wonderful about dogs. They are so full of joy. I bet he always knew how lucky he was that you found him.

Sorry at your loss. I know how much your two dogs meant to you. We miss Sadie but we elected to not have another dog. Sadie was Tigger’s dog who lived with us after she married and could not keep her in their small apartment. Sadie was a member of our family; my dear Piglet was more accepting having our daughter’s dog than to acquire a dog that was “ours.” Of such things are the accomodations of a couple who’ve been married 42 years. Ciao,

Sorry about your loss…it’s rough. As with everything, you need to do what works for you and your family, despite what others would say or do in similar situations.
