First Day of Grandmother-hood

Max is finally here. Guess he liked it all warm and cozy inside because he didn’t make his debut until today at 12:20 AM. By C-section too. Not the preferred delivery but things just weren’t working out like we all thought it would.

He’s amazingly beautiful. 7 lbs, 11 oz. Almost looks like a month old baby….really surprised us how big and (almost)wonderfully fat he is. Shouldn’t be long before those delightful fat rolls show up on his arms and legs.

Terry and I only got to see him as he was being checked out in the nursery…almost ate his whole hand a couple times.

I know C-section babies look better but wow! he really looked good.

We were at the hospital from 9AM on…..nothing was progressing as it was expected to do. But the daughter is fine, still groggy when we said goodbye.
Hopefully, tomorrow we’ll be able to hold him.
Enjoyed spending the day with son in law’s mother. Max isn’t her first grandchild, like us, but she was just as excited.

We’re exhausted but happy, happy, happy.

I’m so grateful for a wonderful son in law who kept texting us and finally sending pictures while we were left alone in the dumb ol’ waiting room.

Max looks just like both of them. No doubt in our minds who he belongs too.

And he sure is big! And perfect!

Terry and I practically danced in the hallway, addressing each other as Grandpa and Grandma.

Yep, we’re a little giddy and a little too excited and probably a little over tired to sleep and it’s 3:30 AM.

And once again, let me repeat: I feel wonderful and as healthy as a horse.

Geeze louise! I’m a grandma!!

I’m thrilled for you, Grandma! I’m happy mother and Max are doing well. Maybe Grandma and Grandpa’s feet will touch the ground in a day or three. 🙂 Happy and healthy sounds wonderful. Max will be the best medicine in the world for you. Love,
