My D and equality

Just remembered a short conversation D and I had in the car recently. She brought up the subject of television and/or written stories of girls who have to “prove themselves” in different scenarios. In other words as a female their abilities were questioned. D said “the fact that we are even having that conversation is so wrong!”. She wondered how it got to be that way. We discussed of a few possible reasons. I could not be more proud of that kid.  And I told her so. Maybe equal pay for equal work will exist in her time.
