Stocking Stuffers

We had Christmas at my parents last night, and I am always amused at the gifts that have been in our stockings over the years.  We’ve gotten underwear and socks.  We’ve gotten all kinds of candy.  Pez is usually a staple.  Gobstoppers and Nerds were in them this year.  We’ve gotten cologne and cheap electronics.  Gift cards and other stuff is not uncommon as well.  It’s hilarious to me how it has become a mishmash of gifts.

This year, I saw some organic cosmetics, Corona beer merchandise, and other fun stuff in the stockings.  My dad made this treasure map for my nephew, which was awesome.  He took and old car shammy and burnt some holes in it.  They got him a pirate costume and ship that he loves.  I think it made his aunt, my wife feel a little bummed about her gift, but I think she got him an awesome pop up book.  I need to encourage her better about the gifts she buys, cuz she tries reallly hard.
