You are kidding me….right?
I would count last night as one of the coolest things that I have ever done. A friend and I went to a book signing by my favorite author, Jodi Pecoult. I find her to be the most fascinating of authors. She truly has the ability to take real life scenarios and match them with beautiful characters, spin a truly believable story that leaves me pondering for days as to what I might do in that situation. The opportunity to hear her speak absolutely the coolest. She was witty and about as down to earth as it gets; just an ordinary mom who writes beautiful books. As she described the way books came together for her, I was riveted to my seat. Her "what if" game that eventually grows from the unusual to the plausible, and then develops characters that echo in her thoughts until they are poured onto the page. Amazing….absolutely amazing! Her next book. Between the Lines, was jointly written by her daughter Sammy and poses no mature adult theme that would prevent the young reader from experiencing her as a writer. It truly excites me to be allowed to introduce her to my young readers. The Story Teller also comes out in June and the plot of this book seriously caused the hair to stand up on the back of my neck. I truly see a summer of reading ahead of me. I am so thankful for my Kindle and all the books that I will have at my fingertips.
When I arrived at home last night, the hubby was sitting in his favorite chair watching a little TV. The first words out of his mouth were, "I think we should turn the AC on. I literally snorted out loud. Really, are you kidding me? No we are not turning the AC on in the middle of March. We opened a few more windows and it was a beautiful nights rest. Seventy-three degrees at 10:00 in the evening is absolutely refreshing, and I loved the fresh air. This was probably one of the best nights sleep ever. The weather this week has been a huge blessing, and I am so happy to pull out my Capri pants and flip flops. I dread returning to work next week, but I know that I only have nine more Mondays before summer break is here.
Jared is scheduled to finish his final round of Chemo on Monday. They will scan him in May to make sure that the cancer is all gone. His last scan showed three remaining spots that were less that 2 cm in size for each. The doctor seems really confident that the last three chemo infusions will take care of this. I am in constant prayer that Jared has weathered this storm and made it through safe and sound. It has been really tough on them. He has been off work for nine weeks, sick as a dog, lost all of his hair, and his spirits have dipped pretty low. I am so proud of him for making it through all of this. He is one tough cookie!
On another note, today my son and his wife celebrate their wedding anniversary. It is really hard to believe that they have been together four years. It seems like yesterday that they were standing in the little country church where Mike and I exchanged our vows and made lifetime promises. I wish for them a lifetime of happiness.
Well, I am off to read and nap. Have a great spring day everyone!

She is really awesome! My favorite is House Rules…or My Sister’s Keeper. I tried to leave you a note on your page, but for some reason I could not get to you. Did you go to OD Plus?

The first book I read of Jodi Picoult was “Nineteen Minutes”. It was a book Club read. Initially I thought it was a terrible book for Book Club but it left me with Food for Thought as all of her other books do. I LOVE this writer. Yeah my husband wanted to turn on the Air Conditioner last Saturday when it was 80 degrees in the Upstairs. Um No… We just opened windows and stayed downstairs.
