Well, i’m in the air and on my way to Baltimore.

This morning was good.  I woke up, got everything together, wrote my fast entry, and talked to Court a little.  I had originally planned to leave the house at about 7 or so, get to the airport around 8, and leave at 10:40… Court was uber worried that I wasn’t giving myself enough time to get through security and the like, and Mom wasn’t sure what the traffic would be like, so I ended up leaving at about 6:30 or so instead.  The only thing I think I’ve forgotten so far is my socks. x.x But it’s easy enough to buy a bag of ’em later this week.

The flight to the airport was uneventful, Mom and I talked a little while and got there before 7:30; mom figured there wasn’t any reason to spend 7 dollars to sit with me at the airport for a little bit of time, so she just dropped me off at the arrivals place.  Took me no time at all to get through the ticket counter and even though there was a nice sized line at Security, I didn’t have to wait long there either.. I was through both by about 8:00 or so.  Which left me over two hours to sit in my terminal (waaaay at the other end of the airport) and read.  Which is what I did, and talk to Court a little.  Got onto the flight and got into my seat, (window seat, of course).  My seat mate is a nice old man (around his 80s I’d figure) who’s on a trip to Baltimore to see his great-grandson for the first time.  His name’s David, he’s lived in Olympia almost all of his life and I really enjoyed the pre-flight chat.  I think it did a lot to calm my nerves.  I’m still feeling nervous, and I’m hungry, but not really hungry-hungry, but a munchy hungry… ::shakes her head a little:: I dunno anymore.  The time is 11:20 PST… in around 4 hours I’ll be in Baltimore.  4 hours after that, I’ll be with Courtenay.

Time’s never passed so slowly.

The three hour layover wasn’t half bad.  I spent it with a friend and we had dinner at a little pub like thing inside of the airport.  The food was good, really good, and I knew I was no longer on the west coast when I asked for iced tea and was told "We only have unsweetened tea, is that okay?"  I was practicly floored… It never occured to me that I’d be forced to say "unsweetened iced tea". Wooow.

The second leg of the trip wasn’t bad at all… read and listened to music mostly, but by the time the plane started taxiing into the airport, I was sooo nervous.  My heart was racing and I just… yeah.  Court met me at the baggage claim, and I didn’t walk past him, even thought he was afraid that I was going to.  I was met with a hug and a kiss.

The drive home was fun.  We did a lot of talking… apparently he found the airport okay, but had a hell of a time getting to the parking area.  It was a lot easier to get out of it.  By the time we arrived home we were both exhausted, he more than me.  But I have to admit, I was really tired too… I fell the last two or three steps down into his room.  I’m okay, got a little bit of rugburn on my right knee and bruised my pride, but otherwise I’m perfectly fine.  and what’s a little bruised pride?

I had a hell of a time sleeping though.  I feel like I’m fully energized but at the same time, I look back over the night and I feel like I haven’t slept at all.  If I did sleep, it had to be in little catnaps.  Unfortunately, Court sleeps light enough that everytime I woke up, he ended up waking up too.  I blame Kushiel’s Dart.  I did a lot of dreaming about that book. ::shakes her head:: It was… interesting, to say the least.
While I’m writing this, Courtenay’s laying in bed, eating a bagel and reading his comics.  I think I’m going to demand to know where the bathroom is so I can shower and make myself presentable to the rest of the family.  Wheee.

I just shooed Courtenay off to bed, and am now sitting upstairs, talking to Jamisen and just kind of relaxing.  It’s been a good day – met some of Court’s friends and I liked ’em, they were pretty nifty.  There’s not much to say right now… He has inventory tomorrow, so he’s going to be working and prolly dead tired when he gets offa work.  Tomorrow I’m going to hang out upstairs probably, maybe sit downstairs for a few to read while Jamisen is off at her orthodontist appointment.  Court’s Mom, Jamisen, and I are supposed to go to Sugarbush tomorrow, which apparently has some good (free) cheeses and meats and such, along with animals.  That reminds me, I need to have the kiddo take me down to meet all the animals.

There’s not much else to report.  I’m tired, and I’m going to let the kiddo play.

Keep you all updated.
