Story Scratch Pad

Think of this as my scratch pad.  This entry’ll probably get updated often, soo please bare with me.

Free Will.

That’s what the stories are about. I think if there’s only one phrase to explain the idea of the stories; the core.

Free Will.

It’s so hard to start this off, and I don’t know why.

In the beginning, all will was God’s will.  All things were a part of God’s self and there was no deviation from the roles he assigned them.

It is said that Lucifer wanted to be like God, that his sin was Pride.  While it may have been Pride that was his folly, it’s known that his initial fall came not from a desire for power, but for a need for self.  In his desire for control, Lucifer Morningstar created Free Will – known as a desire and a need for an existance apart from God – apart from the role that God had designed for you.

In his moment of choice, Lucifer created a ‘virus’ that would go on to infect all of creation, and would ultimately lead to the downfall of God’s order.  The first person with whom he shared this discovery was his lover Raindariel, the first and brightest of God’s Generals.  From there, he spread it to all of the angelic host, forcing them to choose between their creator and this new found freedom that Lucifer promised.

in order to keep the new order of things from spreading, and to contain Lucifer’s one creation, God declared war upon the rogue angels.  This was known as the Angelic Conflict, and at the end of the endless day of battle, Lucifer escaped divine justice due to the hesitancy of Raindariel, who disobeyed the direct order to kill her lover.  Those angels who were captured alive were cast from Heaven, and God declared that Lucifer had no place in the Holy, and would instead be cast down as far from God’s light as he could be.  Raindariel was spared a place with the damned angels, and instead was condemned to walk along God’s creation – Earth – forever apart and forever unknown.

The second half of Lucifer’s infection came when he sat with Eve in the Garden of Eden.  This was the first time that Eve had realized that she had a will apart from that of Adam and God’s.  When she took the bite from the fruit of Knowledge, she became aware of her self for the first time.  She became her own person, instead of a vessel of God’s will.

For this crime, Adam and Eve were both barred from the Garden of Eden.  And Lucifer went to carve himself out an existance apart from God.

Since the invention of Free Will and the human acceptance of it, God’s power has waned – being only able to control the actions and concenquences of those who freely and wholely give their free will up, putting their will into God’s hands.

Book One – The Fall

FMC (Female Main Character) – Unnamed thus far, known among the knowledgable as "An’yai" which means "forever unfinished" and "sacrifice."  Born with the mark of sacrifice and the ability to take upon herself other people’s sin.  She’s more internal than external, few close friends, fewer lovers.

MMC (Male Main Character) – Unnamed thus far, one of God’s avenging angels, sent down to watch over FMC and report about her to the Divine. Protective of his charge, not too happy initially of his "babysitting duty." Ultimately has to make the choice between God and the FMC, when the divine decide that FMC is too dangerous to allow to fall into Lucifer’s hands.

Lucifer – The lord of the fallen angels.  The trickster.  Resents how he’s portrayed in the bible.  Tries to spread free will, to completely break God’s hold on all of creation.  Wants the FMC to cleanse him and his other fallen angels of their sin in order to be free to travel to and from the divine.

FMC is born with the ability to cleanse people of their sin.  Ability starts out subconscious, unable to control it.  Once ability starts manifesting, weird stuff happens (at least on the divine end of it), God realizes that there’s something strange about FMC, sends MMC to go down to watch over her, to report.  MMC and FMC spend time together, dodging Lucifer (who’s also noticed something strange about her and those around her), fall in love.  FMC, with help from MMC, learns to control her ability and puts it to work in the way that she thinks it should be put to work.  God doesn’t appreciate / like / ? the direction of her actions, tells MMC to kill FMC.  MMC refuses, falls from grace.  (Possible scene – MMC gets wings removed… fits into dream?) Epic showdown with Archangels and Demons (?), ends with MMC and FMC starting out a life together?

Book Two – The Fallen

Raindariel (Rain) – Once lover and consort of Lucifer, now a fallen angel.  Condemned to roam Earth for all eternity, unable to alter history.  Very moody about fall, is trying to find a way to get into God’s good graces without sacrificing her pride.  Rain is a really bad cook, having not to eat, and her presence actually slows/stops the aging process of anyone around her, allowing her to remain with her two constant companions for many centuries.

Aemilia (Ami) – Former Vestal Virgin, joined up with Rain after the angel rescued her from being unfairly punished for losing her virtue.  Ami has been following Rain since the fall of Rome.  Is in love with Gevidicus, but made a pledge that she would devote her entire life to the Goddess, in exchange for her life.  Ami’s the homebody – preferring to cook, clean, and care for Guy and Rain.  She likes to read, sew, and garden.

Gevidicus (Guy) – Former Roman soldier, was saved by Ami and Rain and devoted himself to their service since.  Is in love with Ami and has hard time reconciling her oath to the Goddess with their feelings for each other.  In the centuries since the fall of Rome, Guy has generally taken physical jobs; building, security, police force, firefighter, etc. etc.  He likes doing things with his hands, and has very little patience for "womanly tasks."

Lucifer – Lord of the fallen angels, Raindariel’s ex lover, etc. etc. etc.

After Lucifer tries to once again convince Raindariel to abandon her steadfast loyalty to God, the angel stumbles across writings that point to the fact that the Messiah is to be reborn.  Lucifer’s words lead Rain to realize that the fallen angel is going after the infant.  After inadvertently leading Lucifer and his henchmen to the child, Raindariel gets her chance to redeem herself in the eyes of the Divine.  Her task, destroy Lucifer.

Book Three – The Redemption

Nothing’s really planned for this book.  The whole idea that I have is based on the idea of what happens when the son o

f God, and the daughter of Lucifer fall in love.

It’s the Redemption of Lucifer, and the fall of God.

And so the cycle is complete.

Oh… that sounds VERY interesting. RYN: THANK YOU so much for being so supportive! You and your mom are amazing, I’m not used to people actually believing in me like that. Sir Monkey will be finished today (I’m just putting some last details on his tunic). I can put everything up on Etsy Monday or Tuesday. I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long. I got a little overwhelmed, and I want him to be Perfect. Sir Monkey has indulged in a few too many cookies (you’ll see what I mean when you get him) so I had to make some adjustments to the tunic, and I realized that it would be WAY easier for you if it was adjustable and easy on/off. I will do my very best to get them up on Etsy just as soon as I can! Oh, unless you don’t want me to put them on Etsy, but just do paypal… your choice. Lots of hugs, John
