Back, Finally

Yeah, yeah, I know I was supposed to write earlier than this, I just didn’t have the heart to.  So I’m back now to gossip and to vent and do whatever else needs to be done.

Work’s been very work like… I got my evaluation (woo, 5 years!) and that was… interesting.  Not only in what was said (I meet expectations all across the board) but because of some of the stuff that was implied and not said.  It seems that some of the hostility that I thought was over is just less overt.  I don’t really care as long as I can do my own thing, but it’s still a little… upsetting in a way.  No matter what I do, and how hard I work, I’ll never change the view of me that some people have and I think I’m just not going to bother trying to bleed myself dry to make them look better at me, if that makes sense.

We’re also getting two more auditors in… well, one more auditor and another STEP person.  Both of them are Tribal.  I’m… less than overjoyed.  Like I told Courtenay, it seems that this job is making me more and more racist.

Speaking of Courtenay… we’re doing alright.  We’ve had a really rough patch of time since my visit, but we both knew that was going to happen… the whole being alone thing got to us both, along with a couple other bits of stress and the like.  We’re doing a lot better now, although we’re not any less alone or less stressed.  He said the other night that some of our problem might be that neither one of us is venting like we usually do in OD.  I’m giving this a shot to see if that could be it. I know I’ve been a lot edgier than I normally am, and a lot more just… "blah."

I went and visited Bob yesterday.  It was his birthday so he was having a cookout.  Kevin was there, along with their other roommates; Shawna and Chris.  Mom and I went, and Matt, Kevin’s brother Mike, and Everett all showed up too, and we had a lot of fun… played some Martian Fluxx and talked about video games before eating BBQ and the like.  Mom and i had to go home early since she had to work, but we had a lot of fun.  The group’s not getting together this week, but apparently next Wednesday we have a game.  Kevin (Kimo) is going to be GMing a Heroes Unlimited game.  I’m thinking about bringing back an old character of mine.  Court suggested that I create a new character… and I was giving it a lot of thought.  I don’t know if I can find Lady Moth’s original character sheet, so I might have to roll up a new one… but I did really like her powers; at least her main one, which was Cloth Manipulation.  Perhaps I’ll roll up a new char, but keep that ability.  ::ponders::

I’ve also decided that I want to do some roleplaying… I miss it.  I don’t really want to run an actual game though… Which is why I was so happy when Kimo decided he was going to run our Wednesday games.  ::dances:: Maybe I should see about getting into a PBeM or two… W, get yours up and running, I posted my char profile thingie.  Unless you think I should just start a post and see what goes on?  In fact, I might just do that.  Just remember, anything that happens is your fault for not starting it when you had a chance. 😛

RYN: Abbreviations, stage directions, and cutesy words ALL have their uses. They can brighten up a casual OD entry or e-mail. The idea is to think of them as spices–just enough, not too much.

I hope that you can at least have less stress in your life soon. I’m glad you’ve posted again as well. 🙂

Re: Nup, I don’t have a SNES since I moved out of my mom’s house. 🙁

I miss role-playing. I saw that Shadowrun was coming out with updated and “easier” rules, and I’m really excited about that. All my AD&D friends left the state. 😛 I’m doing a lot of miniatures gaming lately, though. ANYWAY – ryn: As far as editing, I think setting small goals works best. And you’ll feel you got something done if more is finished. I’m getting together –>

query letters and looking up agents online, via the Writers’ Market reference book. Although, I’m seeing that they all want finished manuscripts, so I have to finish editing first… *sigh* What kind of book are you writing? 🙂

ryn: Your stories sound interesting, too! lol- I had an English teacher in 8th grade DRILL us on grammar & vocabulary & such and it’s stuck. (3 hours a day for a year. I still shudder.) My writing group makes fun of me. 🙂 Heather’s story was fun to write. I keep messing with a sequel (it didn’t end well!), but I haven’t been real focused with it. <:3~
