First off, the to-do list:
- Clean my room (Room’s not clean, buuut I did scrub my bathroom)
Clean the kitchen(cleaned this morning while Momma worked on quilts)Wash another load of clothing(Load washed, but have one more to do – I forgot my pajama shirt)- Get my skirts from the store (They’ll be at the store on Monday)
- Gather up all the gifts I’m taking to the family (Gathered, except for the lamb plush for Michelle)
Gather up the toiletries and other things I’m taking- Make 3 or 4 baby monkey blankets
- Bind the quilt for Momma Leslie
- Get together the batting, backs, and sewing kit to take with
- Get my carry on packed with books, snacks, odds and ends
- Find my purse and pack it with first aid kit, ID, meds, MP3 player, etc. (Don’t have everything packed – not packing the IDs or the MP3 player until Monday)
- Pack my bag (Everything’s packed except for Momma Leslie’s quilt)
Get all the programs I want to show off / writing I need to take with, on my laptop.
Considering the fact that I was working on it today, that’s not bad.
Things are slowly getting together.
Courtenay just fell asleep about thirty minutes ago. We were on the phone and I told him I would sit and talk until he fell asleep. He does that a lot for me; sometimes it seems that I can’t sleep without someone else there, and when I turn my phone onto speaker and lay with it near my head, closing my eyes, it feels almost like he’s right there, just out of arm’s reach. It brings me peace. And this past week I’ve needed all the peace I can get.
Work’s still… well… yeah. Very work like? The external auditors are still ripping us apart and it doesn’t help inspire confidence when your supervisor’s telling people that the whole reason for it is because you don’t know what you’re doing. ::sigh:: I really dislike her sometimes.
I had a hard time focusing today… I’m still having issues with that, but they’re getting better. I need to pack up my crafty stuff but I don’t have the energy for that right now… I’m so cold.
I wish there was more to talk about. Today was a quiet day… I slept most of it; went to sleep last night at like… 8pm, and woke up at 6 this morning. I took a nap between 4 and 7 or so, and I’m awake again, and kind of just… "meh."
Gotta get through tonight, and then tomorrow and Monday and I’ll be on the plane.
You can do it. *HUGS* I know that much. And when people tell you that you can’t do your job…remember that it is probably because they did their own badly and are pushing sh-t downhill.

You’ve crossed quite a few things off of your to do list, it doesn’t seem like it was that quiet of a day. No rush on the quilts for the baby monkeys– definitely don’t stress yourself out over them. I’m in a completely different industry, but I can relate to auditors and your supervisor. Mine’s a lot like that too. RYN: I’m not being as sweet as it sounds. I’m mostly making her what she wants so I don’t have to hear about how David should have spent that $50 on Mother’s Day, not me. She likes the sock monkeys that I make, but she REALLY likes the other ones. I think I’ve past the point of caring because there’s a lot of people that like the Monkeyville ones. Lots of hugs, John

I know exactly how it is with the phone deal. I used to call my friend every night and tell him just to talk to me until I fell asleep. I remember not being able to fall asleep any other way. Good luck with the trip and all. I’m very excited for you 🙂
