Stolen survey
Because I haven’t written much these days, here you go.
I’ve had lots of thoughts on what to put in here, but I haven’t gotten them down yet. One observation: yesterday in a hotel parking lot, I saw a vehicle with North Carolina plates and a Bush sticker next to another with Connecticut plates and a Kerry sticker. Yay for red and blue states. Onto the survey.
1. What is the geekiest part of your music collection?
I have lots of prog-metal. Songs don’t need to have odd 5/4 or 13/8 bars to catch my interest, but lots of my CDs feature them.
2. What do you eat when you raid the fridge late at night?
I usually raid the fridge for drinks, so it’s typically Gatorade or juice. If I need food, I eat a quick bowl of cereal or something.
3. What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?
I have never cried at a movie.
4. If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
You didn’t say “to myself.” I would give Michael Jackson his old face back. Dude’s been through a lot.<br>
5. Do you have a completely irrational fear?
I sometimes fear that even though I’m decently intelligent and well-educated, I won’t amount to much anyway.
6. What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moments?
I’ve watched video of myself, and I fidget a lot when teaching. I’ll scratch the back of my head or put my hands in my pockets.
7. Are you a pyromaniac?
No. I did enjoy, though, the time when I had to relight a pilot light using another flame and a rolled up piece of paper towel.
8. Do you have too many love interests?
Nope, just the right number. Not long ago, that number was zero, and it was too small a figure.
9.Do you know anyone famous?
Other than Zombywoof? No.
10. Describe your bed:
It’s a big queen-sized number with blue and green sheets.
11. Spontaneous or planned?
I tell people I hate making plans, but I’m not that good at being spontaneous either. Spontanned?
12. Do you know how to play poker?
Yes, a fine game. I wish I played it more. Too bad everyone’s completely sold on hold ’em, I’m more of a straight five-card draw man.
14. What do you carry with you at all times?
Wallet and keys.
15. What do you miss most about being a kid?
Having fewer worries about life and the future.
16. Are you happy with your given name?
Timothy means “honoring God” or something like that. Tim’s a fine name, but I attach little weight to the meaning of the name. My middle name is after an old relative who died before I was born.
17. How much money would it take to get you to give up the Internet for one year?
No amount of money, but I’d do it if I could, say, tour the country and play guitar for money. Then again, you probably need the Internet to facilitate that.
18. What color is your bedroom?
Three.
19. What was the last song you were listening to?
I just got the new album “Be” by Swedish proggers Pain of Salvation. Good times. Before that, I was listening to some death-metalish Opeth.

In second grade, I was in the school play. In high school, I did pit orchestra (acoustic guitar) for Damn Yankees and The Sound of Music.

Yep.
22. Do you talk a lot?
I like to think not.
23. Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?
Not as much as I should on both counts.
24. Do transient, homeless, or starving people sometimes annoy you?
They often annoy me. Yeah, they picked that life, but dammit I DON’T HAVE ANY CHANGE!
25. Do you consider yourself to be a nice person?
Yes, usually.
26. Do you spend more time with your girlfriend/boyfriend or your friends?
Used to easily be my friends. Now it’s evening out a little.
27. What is your ideal marriage location?
On top of spaghetti. All covered with cheese.
28. Which musical instrument do you wish you could play?
I wish I could sing a little better. Drums would be fun, too.

34. How do you eat an apple?
Turn it on its side and bite down that way.
35. What do you order at a bar?
Usually beer. I like just about all types, and yes, I can be persuaded to descend to Miller Lite and PBR if the price is right. My favorite mixed drinks so far are rum+coke and gin+tonic.
36. Have you ever pierced your body parts?
No.
37. Do you have tattoos?

40. What’s one trait you hate in a person?
I don’t know, what traits have you got?

Word. If on paper, I like Pilot pens.

Why else would I have dyed my hair… um… burnt umbre?

Not in the way they stereotypically dress.
48. What’s one car you will never buy?
The Maibatsu Monstrosity.

Make fun of them behind their back.
