Employed, single, moving

I haven’t been here in a while.

The last few months have been eventful.

– I have a job.  I got a job teaching math in Michigan, and I’m moving back there at the very end of this month.

– I’m bitter.  The physics job in Chicago I paid to fly and interview at didn’t even give me the courtesy of a phone call.  A number of other jobs rejected me.  I only got one other offer.

– Our band’s now officially split geographically.  Andy’s in Chicago now, I’m gonna be in Michigan, and Aaron’s staying in MD.  We still have a show or two lined up in the coming months, but airplanes must be involved.

– Erica and I split at the end of May.  It probably had to happen (and not because of my move), but I’m still a little miffed about it.  I won’t recount details here.  We still get along, which is good because…

– Even so, we traveled to Germany together for Andy’s wedding last month.  That was a fun trip.  He and his now-wife were married in the small southern town of Isny.

– I will likely not finish my writing before I move, because the job hunt sucked and I have a conference to present at this month before I leave.
