Bored and copyin’ from livejournal…

I made an omni-list of all my mp3’s. I still have a few discs to rip yet, but I have 2000 mp3s exactly. Occasionally, I will shuffle them, FF through 10, and give the list. I will be ashamed of some of them. Others, I will hardly be familiar with at all. If you don’t like it, then please suggest another boredom-alleviating activity. P’snuh!

Here we go…

1. Van Halen – “Without You”. The “hit” from Van Halen 3, the ill-selling album featuring Gary Cherone on vocals. I listened to it avidly for a few weeks in undergrad, then never touched it again. Decent stuff, though.
2. Alice in Chains – “Nutshell”. This is the Jar of Flies version, not Unplugged. Both are great.
3. Lewis Black – “The War In Iraq”. From Rules of Enragement, this is one of the only spoken word/comedy albums I have. Funny guy.
4. Metallica – “Bad Seed”. This a Reload song, therefore, I haven’t listened to it much. By this point, I was getting less and less enamored with new Metallica. This trend continues to the present.
5. Soundgarden – “Applebite”. A weird and experimental track for them, and it has some weird Moog synthesizers in it. A lot of Down on the Upside was solid, but this was from the odd part.
6. Kaki King – “Happy as a Dead Pig in the Sunshine”. I will LJ in more detail about the time recently when I saw half of her show at the Jammin Java a little while back. A really cool guitar player. Does a lot of tap-playing, but this song is a little more traditional fingerstyle.
7. Echolyn – “All Ways The Same”. The string piece with vocals that starts off As The World, it’s the first studio track I heard from these guys after Andy and I saw them live in Baltimore. They’re probably one of my top 5 bands at the moment.
8. Rush – “A Farewell to Kings”. This is a live track from disc 3 of Different Stages, and was recorded in the late 70’s. They sounded good back then too.
9. Van Halen – “Why Can’t This Be Love”. I seriously don’t have THAT much Van Halen, but this classic song came off their greatest hits. I like Van Hagar about as much as I like Van Roth or Van Cherone.
10. Soundgarden – “Rhinosaur”. Same album as “Applebite”, I like this one since it’s got a cool riff in a kind of slow 6/4 beat.

So, 10 songs out of 2000, and 2 are duplicates.

ryn: He’s got happier songs with lyrics like “you won’t find me cuz I’ll be on top the mountain, pissing on your grave” mp3s? You thief.
