I won’t talk about it

because it’s everywhere.  Too close to home.  I will say that now, more than ever, pray for peace.

Other things though –

Massages are wonderful.  One of my good friends is a massage therapist and certified in prenatal massage.  She came over today and worked her magic, and for the first time in week my back doesn’t hurt, and there are parts of me that I didn’t even realize were tense that have loosened up and don’t ache.  She is a God-send!  If you ever need a massage therapist to come to your house, I highly recommend her.

Dread Pirate asked me if I wanted a new computer for Christmas.  Secretly, I think he just wants to build a new computer again.  However, new computer means new operating system, and I refuse.  I like XP.  I don’t want Vista, I don’t want 7, I don’t want 8.  On the rare occassion I have to use his computer (7) I can never find anything.  Horrible.  Windows developers need to stop fixing what isn’t broken.  So I said that I don’t really need a new computer, however I could use a new laptop.  He said that a laptop was out of his price range right now, because he can’t build it himself (well, he can, but it’s a huge P.I.T.A. to do and for the trouble and the money, it’s better to just get a regular laptop).  So I said I don’t need a computer…but I do need a kitchen floor.

Our kitchen floor is homicidal.  Pip, should she ever see this, will vouch for that.  We have this horrible wood laminate that is all warped and the boards aren’t even stuck to the floor anymore, and it tries to kill people as they walk through my kitchen.  (Me, mainly.)  We have rugs down over the floor to prevent injury (or worse).

Finally this morning we went to go look at tile – can’t wait to have the floor done!  We’re deciding between 3 very similar shades that remind me kind of what I’d imagine an Arizona dessert at sunset to look like, kind of a reddish sand color.  I’ll be posting before and after pictures – you can’t even imagine how excited I am to have this done!

Tonight is the TGIO party for NaNo (yeah, my restful week is over) and I soooo am not looking forward to it.  We’re heading to a pizza pub that sure, I’d like to try, but I’m still so sick and still so tired that….I donwanna.  I also don’t want to see people that have nothing else to talk about but yesterday.

Pizza is tough when you can’t taste most things…

PS @Chelsey regarding names – the other name that we like is Penelope (Penny).  However as our last name is "Short" my mean sister pointed out that I can’t have a "Penny Short"…and if she’s not born on her due date, she could be "a day late and a Penny Short".  *sigh*  Zoey was always going to be the first girl, but now we’re stuck for a name for the 2nd, if indeed we have more than one girl (and again, we don’t find out until Christmas what Speck is.)

Well, you can always keep Chelsey in reserve if you have a second one. I actually really like the name Zoey, so you have my permission to use it if you want. 🙂
