Funny little thing

The way we see the world,

Tattooed and twisted

In colors we choose ourselves….

Odd little way

We view the girls

That pass us by or stop and smile,

That we pull from somewhere off the shelves…

And we see the world so differently,

And we never understand,

And we don’t even think someone else’s way,

And we never lend a hand…..

All you do is walk through the door,

All you do is turn off the light…

All you do is smile or say a word…

Or walk on by and forget the sight

That you saw for that single moment,

That may have changed your life…

To make up for all the things we lack.

There’s a strange sensation in my eyes,

When you leave my picture frame,

And we never speak enough together

To know when something’s changed….

And we know the hidden meaning

Yet the silence and the separation

Always seem to block our way….

And we know nothing of the silence,

And we are too far afraid to yell

And far too good to mind it…..
