Get Over It

You say so many things,

So many bitter things,

You show what unhappiness brings,

A mind so wasted dwelling,

On things that we can’t be helping,

Is not the voice worth using yelling.

I, too, used to feel the same,

And in truth I was not to blame,

For the misery, for the relentless shame,

I did not deserve the fate given,

A beaten heart hanging on to living,

But I’ve found a reason to keep on giving.

We don’t get our every whim,

Get over it,

Our love won’t sway her or him,

Get over it,

Time won’t stand still for us,

Get over it,

Ourselves are all we have to trust.

It’s a mistake to believe life is pain,

To believe that life is just a simple game

When life’s so amazing it couldn’t be that plain,

Life is meant for love, passion, dreams,

To have a wish and make it by your means,

Because life is so much more than it seems.

So feel the wind upon your fingertips,

And get over it,

Give in to your heart and taste your lover’s lips,

And get over it,

Say what you feel and don’t regret,

Get over it,

Because life grants you what you deserve to get.

We don’t get our every whim,

Get over it,

Our love won’t sway her or him,

Get over it,

We’ll find another who loves us better,

Get over it,

And we’ll forget we loved him, met her.

So taste the raspberry rain,

And get over it,

Remember the love, forget all the pain,

And get over it,

Love will appear, just give it time,

Get over it,

Life’s worth enjoying, so let it shine.

And….

Get over it.
