GOINK!!

my previous entry had a picture of my father.. and  iget2beme  said…

What in the world was his job? It looks like I could run full force right into him and he wouldn’t budge an inch! [Iget2bme]

~~~~~~~~
i very much doubt that he would budge  and who ever tried to buge him would end up like this     LOL
but to answer her question… he was in the Navy for a few years. he went to  Seal training  but he didnt make it thru because his eardrum ruptured during BUDS (basic underwater demolition speacialist) training. so he ended up on the flight line on a carrier instead and after that.. he worked construction.
but the memory that comment brought with it was funny.
we used to play this game as kids called Goink.  my dad would get down on his knees and we’d run at him as fast and hard as we could and bounce off his stomach and yell GOINK!!  it was always best when he’d flex and push us backwards. we’d go flying ass over tea kettle. it was great fun i swear!  and just more proof that i am easily amused  i guess LOL  we also used to hang off his arms and to chin ups. well as much as of a chinup as you can do at 5 years old anyway LOL
i used to be convinced my dad was indestructable. he had me convinced for the longest time he was superman.  and  to my inner child he still is. he always will be.  but to my adults eye, i see him all to clearly as the man his is. and while i dont like very much of what i see, i still love him.  he is my father after all regardless of  the perspective time distance and age have given me.
ahh well still a good memory and everyone should have atleast 1 good memory of thier parent!!
Those are wonderful memories to have forever! I’m so happy my comment gave you this memory once again. Broken ear drum..I hear that is the most painful thing that can happen to a human body, my husband broke his and he definitely agrees.
