Well, this sucks!

So I was on my way to work this morning. I was actually feeling pretty good. Aches and pains are at a minimum right now, I was in a good mood and determined to have a good day.

My car died on the highway.

This has been one of my biggest fears since moving here. I drive 30 miles one way to get to work, all of it is highway. I’ve been terrified of it happening, and it waits till I’m 9 months pregnant to do so. At least I didn’t have a newborn with me!

Danny’s in Baltimore right now… Why couldn’t this have happened last Monday? He called his sister and she came and picked me up. I called roadside assistance and they sent a tow truck out. Car broke down @ 6:45, I got back home around 9am.

It’s 2:30 right now and the garage just called with the news: fuel pump is shot. It’s gonna cost me… $550. Fuckity fuck fuck fuck! That has to come out of the money I’ve been saving to pay bills with while I’m on maternity leave.

I really don’t wanna cut my leave short, but it looks like I may have to. I was hoping to have 12 weeks of interrupted baby bliss. I was looking forward to not have to go into that hellhole for 12 glorious weeks. Now it looks like I may be able to swing only 6 or 8 weeks…

Life sometimes… just ugh!!!

I’m sure you can still swing closer to 8-10 weeks. That’s actually good for a fuel pump, mine went May 08 and was over $800 to replace.

(HUG) That really sucks!! I had to cut my maternity leave short for $$ reasons, too, with my last child. Nearly killed me to do so… Best of luck. RYN: Exactly… I know I tend to vent in my entries so I don’t blow up in the real world.
