Missing Time
No, not in the alien abduction context.
So if you look at the timeline of my entries, you see that I often do things in batches. Always have. But I’ve been absent for awhile, too.
There was a large break in mid-2004 that was actually a 3 month loss of data by the virus that hit the OD servers. Followed by a few months of my shying away from writing online, still pouting that I hadn’t backed up my writing. I’m normally very cautious with data, with my creations, and doubly so with my creations that exist only as data. New love for digital photography included.
Anyway, I stopped pouting and was posting again until February ’05, when I started the packing up and moving process. Country boy moved into the city. And loving it. Well, as much as possible.
Immediately following the move came severe back issues, still unresolved. Been through the whole steroids, injections, physical therapy thing that got me back on the bike and back jogging, when I put all my time and energy into it. And if you know me you know I put ALL my energy into getting well. But now that the injections are wearing off and I’ve reached my legal limit for one year (too bad I’m not a pro ball player!), it’s creeping back and I’ll officially find out my future medical fate on Thursday, but I’ve already accepted that I’ll be having surgery real soon. Snip snip and there goes the herneated disc materials, out with the medical waste.
Which should give me lots of time to write while recovering.
I have a new respect for those who live in constant pain. It really absorbed all my waking energy, and sleeping didn’t do much to recharge me. Still isn’t the best, but it’s better than before. In the meantime, I did manage to finish my Reiki Master Practitioner certification. I thought it might come in helpful, plus being in the city gives me more opportunity to use it to help others and participate in Reiki shares, where other masters work on you in exchange for doing work on them.
And as a positive bonus, my inability to do anything physical all year led to rediscovering my love of photography. Combining that with my love of live music, and I may very well have found a hobby that actually generates some income.
So overall, trading a year of activity in my life for an additional new path or two for the rest of my life will most likely be a good trade.
Welcome back!! Your photography was consumed and enjoyed a few weeks ago. Your back pain, however, is concernful. Isn’t there ANYTHING other than surgery? If not, do your research. Know the techniques and find the almost best technician… Best always,

Oops!! That should read… ABSOLUTE best technician. I wouldn’t wish an “almost” best anything on anyone… heehee That might be my “pubic” moment!

I hope you feel better and the outcome will be what you want it to be. Sending the love
