~Food for the Soul
(A timely piece from the past: written somewhere in the 1990’s,
but remembering the cicada swarm of 1988 in the DC, Baltimore area)
Rhythm: Poem; Cicada: Leaf
Rhythms march through poems like cicadas march through leaves.
Rhythms march through poems
like cicadas through the leaves.
Rhythm marches through poems,
like cicadas through fresh leaves.
Rhythm marches through
poems; cicadas:
fresh, green leaves.
Cool! Interesting how the sound of that can change by using simple changes in puncuation!

It took me a minute to catch on the subtle shifts in the construction. Clever! Hoping to catch the cicada “exhibit” on a trip to NC in a couple o’weeks. Hoping, hoping, hoping. bmh

You my friend, are talented beyond belief. I do so love these short simple rhythm pieces, their nuances are so subtle yet clearly defined. Wonderful, as ever.
