Moving On

I have an opportunity to have a permanent job with bennies and the same pay I have now, for the company that is taking over the place I work.  I have a good rep with this company, and they want to offer me a mgt position.  I believe it will be at the same $ I am making now…

What’s the catch you may ask….

I have to move to Tulsa.  I have checked into this.  The cost of living is about 11% cheaper there, and I can rent a HOUSE for about $90 USD more than I do here.  BUT I will have no relcation $ from this company.  I have found it will cost me about 10K with all I have to do (movers, fees for breaking the lease I have, a new car that will actually make the journey) and I just don’t have the 10K.  Who knows if they will pay for it or not, we haven’t gotten around to an offer yet.

Anyway, I want your opinions.  Tulsa or no Tulsa?

(I will say that maybe with being in a place I have never been before, and leaving behind all the bad memory reminders..well, maybe I can find me in all this mess when I leave the mess behind.)

I dont know … I think I could really make some jokes here. But honestly .. I would go for it. Like why not ? I don’t think there is anything worth staying for.

George Strait says, “Tell me something bad about Tulsa”, but no-one ever does so it must be an O.K. place. Good luck with whatever you do.

tulsa’s not bad… I was born in OK. I would say to bring it up to them as part of the offer, if they want you they’ll at least pay for part of it… and as for your lease, post an add and see if you can get someone to take it over for you… that’s saved my ass before. Good luck sweetie.:)

oh, and if you get a truck that might save on the moving costs(renting a smaller truck to for the furniture… and even see if somone will take a small trip to help you move in so all you’d have to do is rent the truck. saves on movers.

If I had any kind of vehicle and didn’t have school I would SO be there… I hate moving myself, but oddly enough actually like helping other people move.
