Goofy Decorations Day at Work

Is there no end to the goofy things people will dream up to keep themselves entertained at work? LOL

I came in today to pictures of parrots everywhere! Leis, sand buckets and shovels, Hawaiian themed flags, pictures of mai tai’s, drink umbrella’s etc. It looks like a cheap Florida Keys bar in here.

Apparently, since we have had such a cold snap, the new managers thought we should have all this decorating the offices, including lei wrapped PC’s, so that we can ‘think warm’.

It is amusing, don’t get me wrong, and I appreciate that they thought it would bring some much needed cheer into the office….but what does ‘think warm’ really have to do with tech support?

Perhaps they would have been better served to decorate with burnt out NIC cards, some smoldering monitors, smoke stained keyboards?

Hehehe, all of this is tongue in cheek of course. Frankly, I do appreicate it, it is nice to know they are thinking of our happiness, and in some cases mood swings when they aren’t here.

I also appreciate that they decorated the managers office with birthday stuff, including enough silli string that it will take weeks to clean it up. His birthday is tomorrow. Mine is too, but they dint do anything for me….which is great as I would hate to have to spend an hour cleaning up my area just so I can get to my desk and work. (There are very stringent rules that mean we MUST get to our desks IMMEDIATELY upon arrival!!)
