Seriously?

I was just about to start  getting ready to go to Bible study and Jacob was heading down to the gym.  I heard him open the door and take something that had been taped to it.  I  asked what it was, but he didn’t answer right away so I got up and went to see what he was reading.  We got a notice on our door that says the following:

In an effort to maintain an attractive and well maintained community for all whom live here we ask that residents follow guidelines regarding placement of objects on patios, balconies , entryways and carports.  We strive to maintain a uniform and neat appearance and ask for you cooperation in helping us maintain the community for yourself and your fellow neighbors.

During a recent inspection of the community we made not of the following item(s):

• Section A .3 of your Apartment Rules & Regulations Addendum "B" to your Apartment Lease Agreement states… "and Residents shall not hang towels, laundry, clothing or anything else on patios, balconies or windowsills".

Please remove the following "Hanging" item(s) from patio:

• (1) Bird Feeder
• (1) Wind Chimes

We ask that you please remove the above mentioned item(s) at your earliest convenience.

How friggin’ retarded is that?  We have had the windchimes that I got when my mom was out here up for well over a year.  And the bird house up for almost that long as well.  WTF!  You mean to tell me that you are JUST now noticing them?  JUST NOW?  #%@#%^@@#%^

We are finally back on track with rent.  We are finally where we should be, and now we are getting stupid (*&% like this?  All this makes me want to do is say forget it and find a new pace to live.  I don’t have the time or the patience to play nitpicky games with people.  I can understand using the balcony as a storage facility.  I can understand not wanting people to hang their laundry and unmentionables out to dry in the summer breeze.  But a windchime?  A birdhouse?  I was just noticing the other day some of the other people’s balconies around here and their windchimes.  If I don’t see bare balconies all over this complex by the middle of the week, I’m going to have something to say.  Come on!

I think I’ll head over to craigslist and see what types of rental places are listed right now.  Actually that will have to wait until after to Bible study.  At least that will give me the opportunity to calm down a bit.
