Not Counting My Chicks
Change your thoughts and you change your world.

It’s official… Jacob has a job. He starts tomorrow morning. And for once, I think it’s something that he is going to enjy and stick with. He is going to be working with a landscaping company. He really likes landscaping and talks about someday having his own company, so I’m hoping and praying that this is finally the job of all jobs that he will keep. Keep your fingers crossed for me! =)
Not sure what the deal will end up being with the military. I think that he is probably not going to end up going that route. That’s fine as long as he can maintain a job from now on. He really does have a lot on his plate right now. He is continuing on with his church classes. Not much else has been said about the issues he came upon a few days ago. I try my best to stay away from discussions of religion with Jacob simply because I don’t think that we will ever truely see eye to eye on the subject. He did call me earlier and ask for my Papa’s number. That is the one person that I hope he does talk to and realize that being Catholic is not necessarily what he HAS to do to be in the good graces of the Lord. He has a really clouded perception of Christianity and I really hope that he can get things cleared up.
In addition to his church classes which are now on Monday nights, he will now also have GED classes on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00. I’m not sure what his work schedule is going to be like, but I have a feeling that he will work early in the morning and get off of work around 3 or so. Once he is off work, he will then have boxing from 4:00 to 6:00, Monday through Thursday. Yes yes… he is a busy guy.
Oh yeah… the boxing thing. I guess he is excelling rather well with the boxing. They are having a hard time finding other guys big enough for him to spar with though, but they are expecting him to have his first fight in June. That means that he has to get his hands licensed before then. Craziness! His coach seems to think that he might do really well with this sport. Who knows… maybe someday my hubby will be a big time boxer on HBO Saturday night fights. LOL I’m not holding my breath though.
On to the next subject… Ami’s wedding is a month from tomorrow. I still haven’t gotten my tickets to fly home. LOL I just hope that I don’t end up paying an arm and a leg by waiting until the week before to get the tickets. Now that Jacob is starting a new job though, maybe I’ll be able to get them sooner than expected. I was looking at prices yesterday and I actually found round trip tickets for only $157! I wanted to get them so bad, but we obviously don’t have the money right at this second. Not to mention we aren’t sure if Jacob will be going with or not.
He is going to talk to his new boss tomorrow regarding the trip. I told him to let them know that this has been planned for the past year. If he gets to go then good deal… if he doesn’t get to go then it’s not that big of a deal either. It would save us money if only one of us goes. LOL But in all honesty, I really do want him to go on this trip with me. Guess we shall have to see.
I’m looking forward to getting back on our feet again. When we are both working and things are being taken care of is when are relationship is the best. I can’t wait until we are able to breathe comfortably again. It’s going to be a few weeks yet, but I predict that as long as all goes well with his new job, we will be sitting good again by mid-May.
YAY I’m excited for you both! I hope it works out. And from personal experience (booking flights every week!) if you get much closer to the date than two weeks you’re going to be paying double that what you would have paid 3 weeks and before. Usually. Sometimes you can find a good deal here and there. Get them as quick as you can!
