Just Another One of Those Days
It’s 2:35 and I have nothing to do. I was literally finished with all of my work (including marketing calls) by 12:30 today. While at times it’s nice to be able to sit around and do nothing, other times such as today it is just a drag and a half. I’d rather be at home right now playing with the new laptop. =) There’s been a couple of glitches with it that I’d like to figure out. I’m hoping that it’s nothing major and a quick fix. I’m thinking about taking it in this weekend to Best Buy so that their "geek" people can look at it and make sure it’s all good.
Jacob is probably going to go to Comcast today and pick up the self-install kit so that we’ll have high-speed internet at home today. That will be nice. I can’t wait to be able to talk to my friends and family online again. I always enjoyed that when I had the laptop from Cisco. And of course being able to be on OD whenever I want and not just during the week while I’m at work.
I have a scrapbooking program that I tried downloading last night. Everything went smoothly until I started using it, and it gave me this stupid error message. I really really REALLY want this program to work, so I’m hoping that I can figure out what is going on or that it’s easily fixable if I take the computer in to Best Buy. I don’t know if they’ll even help with things like that if you haven’t purchased the computer from them. Guess we’ll have to see.
So Jacob is saying that he is going to see about renting a car to drive up to his mom’s on Friday and drop it off at a rental place up there so that he can drive the Mustang back on Sunday. I would prefer that he just catch the bus up as soon as he gets off of work, but of course his family has this thing about instant gratification. They (moreso his mom) insist that he be there Friday night ASAP. I understand that you want to spend as much time with each other, but unless it costs the less or about the same as a bus ticket, is it really necessary for us to have to pay to rent a car just to get there? I think not. Too bad my husband doesn’t think the same way. I kind of have my fingers crossed that the rental place won’t have somewhere for him to drop of the car up there. In that case he will have to take a bus because I’m not going up there with him.
It’s starting to get hot here. I guess it’s going to be really hot for the next few days in fact. The weather guy showed that it may get to be over 100* tomorrow and Thursday. Good Lord-y! Luckily our apartment stays fairly cool regardless of the outside temperature. I just went home for lunch a little bit ago, and even though it is really warm outside, it was downright chilly in our place.
And as of right this very second, I am suddenly very sleepy. I could easily crawl under my desk and take a nap until the end of the day. Or maybe I’ll just go get some coffee from Starbucks. Oh the luxury of having good ol’ Starbucks as your neighbor. =)
Since this entry is pretty much going nowhere fast, I’m gonna end it here. Besides… I have to figure out how to get this exam scheduled since the stupid Portland office isn’t going to help me at all! LOSERS!
Laters,
JamieLynn =)
RYN: I got it at Walmart for $60 and it was SUPER easy to install. They have others, some more expensive and a couple cheaper, but this one has speed boost, which I thought sounded like a good thing, LOL. And, also, Happy birthday to Robert today! 🙂 I feel slightly less perverted lusting over him now that he’s a year older, LOL. Have fun with the new laptop. 😀
