It’s a Boy!
The week has been interesting to say the least. First of all, I got to work on Monday morning only to find out that Lani was already in labor. She wasn’t due until August 18, so she was pretty much three weeks early. Lucky for her, she went to the hospital at about 5:00 a.m. and by 11:00 a.m. the baby was born. I’m so happy for her. She’s home now. I saw that she updated her myspace page, and sure enough there was a picture posted of Seann. He is so absolutely perfectly adorable! I can’t wait to meet him in person!
Along with that exciting news, this was also the week that Keri took her vacation at work. That of course means that there are only three of us in the office. Rosie, Shannon, and me. We haven’t had too much drama pop up other than one of our examiners suddenly going MIA on us. This lady literally sent us an email on Monday night after hours, knowing damn well nobody would respond until the next day. The email had an attachment of all the exams that she was scheduled to complete and she simply wrote: "I can’t do any of these." That was it. No reason why. No decency to give us status on things that she had already done. No this is why I can’t do these appointments. NOTHING. Several messages were left for her on her voicemail (mine was of course the best one =) ), and Shannon sent her an email saying her behavior was unacceptable. Other than that small snafu, everything has gone as expected. Of course we are a bit busier than we normally would be, but that’s to be expected. Oh and of course Shannon is in queen slacker mode, but that’s to be expected too.
Rosie and I both have been baffled by how utterly ridiculous her thought process seems to work. We just don’t get how her brain works. She’s got another thing coming if she thinks I’m going to cover her ass for her though. If Keri asks me anything directly that Shannon has done while she’s been gone this week, you best bet I will be singing like a bird. I doubt anything will come up though since we still seem to be functioning just as efficiently as when Keri is there with us. Which is a good thing. We want her to know that it’s okay if she needs to take a day off here and there. Especially since Lani won’t be coming back until January.
I’m happy to report that I completed everything that needed to be done so that I can begin volunteering at the refugee transition house. I’m going over there tomorrow night after work to meet up with Andrea so that she can introduce me to everyone that is living there now.
We found out a bit of sad news on Sunday. Desiree and Umida (the missionary that works in Uzbekistan and her adopted daughter) found out that they are not going to be able to get back into Uzbekistan. The organization she was working with over there has been kicked out of the country. They aren’t sure what is going to happen now. If you feel so inclined, please pray for them and all of the disabled orphans that they were working with that will no longer have their loving care (at least for the time being).
Bills suck right now. I’m really praying that our finances begin to get straightened out sooner rather than later. I’m tired of the stress of it all.
I talked to my dad on the phone on Monday. It was the first time that I’ve talked to him I think since shortly after our wedding. I’ve gotten emails and such from him, but never been able to catch up with him on the phone. I do have his cell phone number now though, so if I need to reach him now it won’t be an issue. I called him to ask him a question, and then we ended up talking about my wedding video. LOL He asked if I had ever gotten it. I told him that I actually had never gotten it because I could never afford to finish paying for it. He said he is going to see what he can do to get it. YAY! Two years after the fact, I may finally have my wedding video. LMAO How sad is that? Better late than never huh?
I also got a postcard from the lady that took our wedding pictures. She sent a postcard saying that she is going out of business and that if we want to buy the negatives of our pictures that we can have them for $25. Mom is going to be picking them up tomorrow! I’m excited for that. I’m hoping that now that I will have the negatives that it will be cheaper for me to get prints made for myself. I’d like to have quite a few of our pictures blown up into portrait size prints. So YAY for that too. =)
The weekend is pretty much booked up for us already. Friday night we are going to see Jacob’s dad and Esther. We haven’t spent time with them for awhile, so that should be fun. And of course that means that she’ll cook too so that’s always a big plus. =) Saturday, Jacob is supposed to be having breakfast with Pastor Kevin. While he is doing that, I’m going to be at Barnes and Noble buying Breaking Dawn! *squeals internally* Unfortunately I won’t be able to just sit and read all weekend. Saturday afternoon, we are supposed to be going to Santa Cruz with Dave and Dori to go fishing and just hang out at the beach and whatever else we can think of to do.
Sunday we have church in the morning. Hopefully that afternoon I will get to sit and read some of Breaking Dawn (if I haven’t stayed up all night on Saturday night and read the whole thing already). Sunday evening we have bible study at Luann and Kevin’s house. We haven’t even read what we are going to be discussing yet. I’ll have to sit down with Jacob tomorrow night so we can read it together and maybe talk about it before Sunday.
Oh yeah… I forgot to write about the response that I got back from the facebook message that I wrote to a certain female last week. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go back an entry. SOOO…. without further ado, this was the response that I got.
Subject: facebook????
Body: I apologize for the facebook confusion. I didnt even know facebook existed until I got an e-mail saying I got a message from you. But I do know who made one for me. I am over Jacob and have been since last year. I hope you have a great marriage. Im sorry if that facebook thing pissed you off.
What’s funny is that she responded back to me on myspace, not on facebook. Which means that she has been keeping an eye on my profile. In a way I don’t believe her excuse. I think that she decided to back pedal once she realized all the information that I have on her and that I was in fact one up on her. So she came up with that excuse. But so be it. Regardless I’m so complete over this all. I blocked whoever is in charge of her facebook page from being able to see my page at all, and I didn’t respond and I’m not going to respond to the myspace message. It’s over and done w
ith. The whole incident did prove to me though that I have finally forgiven Jacob for the past, and for that I am thankful and happy.
Have a great weekend if I don’t make it back to write again this week.

She didn’t know facebook existed?! Give me a break, that is the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard. If she’s on myspace, she’s obviously somewhat internet savvy, there’s no way she’s never heard of facebook.

Man, some people are such horrible fibbers

myspace is a trap…i had so many issues with it i eventually cleaned house and got rid of all of it. i’d advise the same to anyone that just wants to have a normal life. 🙂 on another note, YAY Breaking Dawn!!! x

You’re lucky you got your negatives. The same thing happened to my cousin only when the place went out of business they didn’t offer anyone the option of buying their wedding negatives. Now I think she’s going to take them to court. Drama:)

ryn: i don’t mind at all! i live near Sacramento, in the countryside. glad you didn’t mind my opinion on myspace, alot of ppl get angry when i make negative comments toward it. its just from personal experience however and i’m sure it has good qualities if you can look past all the drama-mongers! 🙂
