I’m Back!

Hey hey hey!  I’m back from the big trip and wedding!  =)  Yay!  Actually… although I don’t mind being back in California, I really don’t want to be back here at work.  I jumped right back into my slacker mode.  LOL  Didn’t take long at all.  I’m thinking that it’s probably not really a bad thing that I’m not going to be doing this job for much longer.  I’m completely un-motivated when it comes to working.  In fact… I can honestly say that I’ve not really done much of anything since I’ve been here today.

So here is my first entry since the big day.  We successfully made it through the day last Saturday.  There were a couple of minor glitches the day of the wedding, but both glitches were easily fixed.   Thank goodness!

Saturday morning, Brit and I got up and went to Sioux City to have our make-up done for us.  I was pretty pleased with the results for the most part., but I’m pretty certain that I would never have my make-up done again unless somebody else paid for it.  LOL  We left Sioux City once our make-up was finished, and we were running about 30 minutes behind schedule.

Andrea was supposed to be doing my hair and Kayla’s hair the day of the wedding.  BUT guess what… SHE FLAKED ON ME!!!  She was supposedly really sick with strep throat and one of her kids was sick with pnemonia.  Okay… understandable.  Good reason not to go to a wedding.  HOWEVER… why the fuck could this bitch not answer her phone to tell me that she was sick?  Why did it take me calling from somebody else’s cell phone to get somebody to answer her phone?

I ended up calling her from one of my bridesmaid’s cell phone.  Her daughter answered the phone, and I asked her if they were still going to come up for the wedding the next day.  She said that she thought they were.  I told her that she needed to make sure that her mom either called me or answered the phone when I called back later so that she would confirm any plans.  I told her daughter that I didn’t care if they weren’t going to be there, but if they weren’t going to be there, Andrea needed to step up and answer her phone and tell me if I needed to make last minute arrangements.  Well guess what… Andrea FINALLY called me to say that no they were not going to make it to the wedding.  I honestly think that had I not gotten ahold of Alexandria earlier, that Andrea would have just left me hanging.  FUCKING BITCH!!!  How can people be so heartless??  So unless I decide to be extremely forgiving, I’m pretty much going to sever any ties that I have with Andrea.  BITCH!

Luckily, I was able to get my hair done without any issues on Saturday morning.  The girl that did my hair did a wonderful job, and I was very pleased with the work that she did.  It was exactly what I wanted.

Which is not what I can say about the wedding cake.  LOL  It was the other snafu of the day.  While we were getting our hair done, my aunt was half a block away, letting the people who made the cake into the Legion Hall.  Now my aunt can be pretty picky at times, so when she came into the salon and said that the cake looked really bad, I wasn’t thinking that it could possibly be as bad as she was saying.  Well….  I was wrong!!!  LOL  The cake looked HORRIBLE!!!  It was an extremely BAD immitation of what I had given them a picture of.

This cake looked like a CIRCUS cake.  Now granted, the cake that I wanted was different with red strips and dots on it, but it still at least looked like a WEDDING CAKE!  What these people brought over, looked NOTHING like what it should have.  My description of the cake was that it looked like a clown threw up on it.  LOL  It was HORRIBLE!!  So I was pretty heated when I saw it.

I walked back down to the salon because Brit was still getting her hair done.  Ami had already gone back down and shown her a picture of the cake on her digital camera.  When I walked in, they started laughing, which was fine because the cake seriously looked like a joke!!  They talked me into calling down to the bakery to see if something could be done.  So I call the store and a manager for the bakery was put on the line.  I went off!!!  I told him that the cake looked like shit…. that it was not acceptable AT ALL.  I talked to the guy like 3 or 4 times on the phone within an hour and told him that either I have a new cake by 5:30 that afternoon OR I would be getting a full refund with no questions asked.

Needless to say after going back and forth with them, I got a new cake by 3:00 that afternoon.   LOL  The new cake was 3 round cakes with plain white icing and red ribbons around the top and bottom of each cake as accents.  My aunt’s added red roses to the cakes to finish them off.  They did look  nice though, so it turned out alright.  PLUS we got to keep the first cake too.  LOL  So we got two cakes for the price of one.  Luckily they both tasted really good.

Other than that, the rest of the day was a breeze.  The ceremony was beautiful, the dance was fun.  They didn’t play a lot of songs that I really REALLY liked, but I was to happy to really notice or care I guess.  If I could do anything differently, I think it would be to hand the dj my iPod and tell him to hit random… whatever would come up on the song list would be the next song that they would play.  LOL  All in all though… it was a great day!

I’m sure I have more to write.  I’ll add some more details in a new entry tomorrow.  I have piles of work to do though, and I really should hop to it.

Laters,
MRS. JamieLynn  =)

I’m actually going to a place in Spearfish South Dakota for all my dresses, since I get 15% off the bridesmaids dresses for buying my wedding dress there. But today, I went into Madonna’s to look at the Bridesmaids dress. Isn’t that where you went for your wedding dress? They have some beautiful ones in there!
